I am really struggling to find an HSBC Branch in West Sussex that has any interest in providing decent customer service. I needed to transfer Euros to an account to which I’ve previously made payment. HSBC Head Office had sent a letter in December to say this could now be done free of charge including in branch. However the Worthing Branch won’t do this over the counter (other Branches will!) you have to see someone face to face and all appointments that afternoon were taken. How absurd a process is this?! Transactions of this type take no more staff time than a transfer to a U.K. bank but it’s easier to make life difficult for the customer. The usual solution was offered, go online or use telephone banking, anything rather than meeting the customers needs. No wonder they bounce happily along at the bottom of the customer service surveys.

Went to a branch for the first time in ages, glad I don’t have to do it very often, rude, unfriendly staff, unbelievable and so disappointing.

Lovely, helpful and friendly staff. I visit regularly as I'm a business customer and they make a mundane task enjoyable as I'm always greeted with a warm smile and friendly conversation. Iv had a few occasions where staff have gone above and beyond.
To any negative reviewers look closer to home, your initial atatued is probably the reason for your poor experience

I need to pay some cash in. I work full time and now the Worthing branch no longer open on a Saturday, what am I supposed to do?! They’ve got reduced hours in the week due to Covid so I still can’t get there to pay in the cash....because Covid obviously doesn’t effect people during those hours??!! What a complete inconvenience - how do I pay cash in!?

Such an inconvenience, they're open 4 hours a day Monday to Friday? What baout peoples need to bank their money, its rediculous

It’s a bank but I was unable to pay money in and was sent to the Post Office 😂

Very poor service, hardly any staff and no counter services so directed me and other dissatisfied customers to use machines to make bank transfers etc. I had third party access for my Autistic child's bank account and they took the debit card off me!!! I can not even help my Autistic child to try and become financially able to manage. This branch is a no go zone for me as a long term HSBC customer.

Absolute joke. Everything is back open now, so why is the bank still shut on a Saturday? I’m currently being paid in cash I work Monday-Friday till 5pm how am I supposed to pay it in to my bank to pay my bills complete an utter joke.
