Went into the branch to request a mortgage appointment, they were quite friendly and took my details advising that I would be contacted. After a week though, I had heard nothing so went into the branch again and was told they would chase it up and I would be contacted. A further week passed and still nothing.

I went in again and was given no real explanation why I hadn't been contacted. I find this very rude and they clearly are not overly interested in new customers. If they can't get the basics right what hope is there with something like getting a mortgage through them? I have since gone elsewhere. My recommendation would be to avoid them at all costs.

Avoid ! They have lost my proof of address, and forgot to copy the back of my ID.....Its been a month now and still do not have account....Slob people.

For a bank, pretty inaccessible in terms of availability in comparison to others. As a working man, Monday to Friday, sometimes the Saturday is the only time I have to access this facility, needless to say, it's closed on Saturdays. As a bank, not bad, but as a branch, disappointing that they are not open at more convenient times.

Need information for international transfer.unfortunately I had to wait for over an hour and the info re bank domestic code is incorrect.had to liaise with international bank and domestic bank via phone and it took 6 weeks . unfortunately the Information provided by bank is not acceptable. The information on the now closed bank in Ashtead is on the international bank system and has not been updated by HSBC in UK. I am stuck without resources and had no choice but to accept the now closed bank domestic code as local agent said my money will be ok. Why bank workers does not know their own system whereas the
International bank workers are effecient, polite. And supportive.compared to UK bank workers who are rude, incompetent and unhelpful.its the most stressful experience going to the bank or loading on phone with them

Avoid. Most of the staff here are charming and competent but unfortunately the manager here has an attitude problem. She deliberately delayed releasing funds for 3 hours for a property transaction because she was "eating a sandwich".She then lied to blame one of her junior staff.

Went into the branch today for the first time and was blown away by the staffs incredibly helpful and friendly attitude a real credit to HSBC and themselves
