Metro Bank

Went there today with my relative (wich came as a ukrainian refugee to Uk) to open a bank account. We have asked if its possible to get a bank account for her , the lady at the desk collected our documents( ukrainian passport and BRPcard) and went to speak to her manager. When they came back the manager asked if she can speak with my relative without me as she should be able to communicate in English without any help ( my relative has been here only for a month so obviously her English is poor) so she asked her a question in English ( with an accent) my relative couldn't understand it so she said they wouldn't be able to provide her with an account as this is their bank policy. We felt absolutely discriminated. In my opinion it was disgusting. After that we went to Halifax and she has had an account open after half an hour.

I went to open a bank account but if like I don't speak much English and there was an English guy who was very good and tried to help me instead there was an Indian who laughed and made fun of me since Indians never work in banks should go wash that smells of garlic and onion for the first ignorant thing

I had a bad experience opening a business account online then I popped into the branch dealing with the Metro Bank face-to-face was a different experience couldn’t be more happier with the service that I received So I moved all my accounts over!

The team in the branch itself were polite and efficient, but unfortunately the bank turned down my business for a modest overdraft facility when switching from NatWest, despite having a good credit history. It makes you wonder if they prefer higher risk customers from whom they can profit in interest. NatWest were able to continue my existing, similar arrangements with no quibble. Thank goodness I didn't close my existing NatWest business account!

There is a great family feeling when I use the bank services. They are very welcoming and ask if there is anything they can do for me, I have dyslexia so they are helping me out with anything.
I also love the drive through service which means I don't have to get out of the car if it is raining which it does here in Wales.
