Great beer garden, with really friendly staff. Burgers were tasty and reasonably priced for big portions, only issue is that they weren’t pink and juicy as stated on the menu, so a little disappointing in that respect.
But the duck burger and the spicy one were both tasty, nice skinny fries too. Fab sun trap!
Thanks for a amazing meal
The burgers were spot on.. I had the special which had this lush beer cheese sauce and amazing pepperoni and the other half had a burger called Vintage Sally which she wouldn't share so I assume was good.. the fries were also amazing and well cooked. The meal was well presented with a supply of mayo and ketchup which I didn't need to ask for which was nice surprise.
The restaurant/bar is well presented! I think if you want to get a table around 7pm booking seems to be very important.
We would never of found this place if it wasn't for Leo so you probably owe him a drink!
Indoor and outdoor seating available, due to the weather we picked the garden. The garden is deceptively large, and caters largely to groups. The decor is lovely with lots of flowers and lights and gives it a really good vibe. Atmosphere was really good even for a weekday.
Service was really quick too, some of the drinks arrived before the order confirmation even came through.
I had the Vintage Sally burger which comes with bacon and chilli jam, and a serving of really nice chips. Also had a spicy chicken starter between us.
The spicy chicken starter catches you off guard as it's fairly hot to start with, but once you're used to it you'll keep going back for another.
The chips were just how I like them, crisp on the outside with a hint of salt, and fluffy on the inside. The burger was juicy and full of flavour as the chilli jam soaked into the bun. Definitely recommend having that one.
One of the only downsides is there isn't a huge amount of seating inside, and not all of the outdoor seats have heating so it's not ideal in the winter.
The food is very good, but please leave somewhere that can't be reserved for the few walk-ins that just want a pint!!
Oh, service with a smile wouldn't go a miss these days either!
Such a shame!
