Clean and friendly staff:) Mega grill and hunter chicken dish is big enough for 1-2person. 2hours free parking for customer. Good for diner or lunch :))

When we first arrived it looked a bit run down and in need of a face-lift. Inside was the same, wallpaper hanging off the wall, paint peeling etc. Ordering was easy, you could do it online and pay at the end. But the food took forever to arrive, about 1 hour for us. When it did I wasn't too impressed. Overcooked food, missing bits. Portions seemed a good size for the price though. Also, staff were friendly.

We were regular General Roy goers for food and drink. However the grill has been broken for months. So we tried the Running Horse as an alternative. Great and friendly service . Good food at a good price. Never going back to the General Roy.

Charlie- supervisor was absolutely superb in Every way..went totally above and beyond and acted in a very calm, caring and reassuring manner.
My right leg seized up when my hamstring went and I couldn't walk at all for a considerable period of time.
Charlie kindly lent me his crutches and looked after me all night.
At end of the evening I could just about stand up and both Charlie and Abbie saw me to my car and made sure I was OK.
Both Charlie and Abbie were absolute stars and I can't thank them enough for all there care and attentions.

We hosted a wake at The Running Horse and everything, from the conservatory space itself, the warmest of welcomes, the food and drink, was absolutely perfect. Thanks so much to Dana, Charlie and the whole team for such fantastic hospitality. Highly recommended for all your event needs. 5*

Family friendly pub. Friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere. Great prices. Great food. Great variety of drinks available both alcoholic and soft.

Clean and open feeling but still cosy areas, lovely large outdoor area. Loads of parking available.

A decent locals pub. We’ve been coming here for the last 5 months since we got a fully electric car as the pub has a BP Charge point in the car park. It’s handy as we’re planning on moving soon so don’t want to pay for a home charger to be installed so it means a trip to the pub! Sometimes we eat, sometimes just a drink and others just use the charge point - but their can be a wait so be warned!
Anyway, the pub is comfortable and staff are polite and friendly, the chef is good too 👍🏼

Pleasant atmosphere, very spacious, friendly staff, excellent service, incredible selection of menu items, drink specials, Sunday roast. Very clean and organised, heated smoking area, numerous patios. Definitely a great place to have a drink and eat. I will be going back for more.
