The reception area and stairs/corridor initial strike you as slightly old fashioned. But the room fittings and furniture are more modern and fully functional - for example a large walk-in shower in our room. The bar area is a 'proper pub', and the dining room/lounge are spacious and nicely decorated/furnished. The breakfast was very good (the best scrambled eggs I've had in years) and we chose to eat in for dinner both nights. Good selection of drinks including local beers. Service was very welcoming and friendly, so we felt relaxed and at home. The location, and the hotel's setting within it, is beautiful. Although on a main road, it wasn't noisy overnight and we were able to have the room windows open as a result. Recommended

A lovely impromptu lunch this Saturday. My mother and I enjoyed it immensely. The flowers Infront are spectacular and must have won awards or something.

Its our second stay in this beautiful pub, proper old pub not many around anymore.
Sue, Barry, Grace and the rest of the staff are absolutely lovely lovely people very warm welcoming and just lush all around, Sue’s food is just proper amazing home cooked food, her pies are to die for!
Rooms are clean and super comfortable. 10/10 for everything, can’t wait to go back in the winter for a cozy drink and amazing food..

Lovely clean, light, bright room, lots of windows & 2 arm chairs. We had a shower & a bath. The bed & pillows were also very comfy. Excellent breakfasts each morning with tasty sausages & thick bacon.

My fiancée and I actually stayed in a cottage along the road, but frequented this hotel for drinks and food on two separate evenings.
The food was absolutely delicious, as were the drinks.
The Guinness was the best I have had since I was last in Ireland!
The bar is very cosy and all the staff were great.
Loved the place
