The Fendrod

Booked a table online which was quick and easy. On arrival, no staff present to show us to table. No information on the 1 hour waiting time for food. Purchased food via app and no drinks were served after 30 minutes. Had to go to the bar to get them where I was informed no drinks had been purchased.
The mixed grille was ok (after an hours wait) but the chicken was horrific. Smelt like it had been soaked in washing up liquid and was quite obviously pink. My partners chicken was also the same.
No staff came to check on the table so not given the option to report the issue.

Overall place is generally ok. Could very much do with a deep clean and improvements to both customer service and food quality.

The service is what let us down here. Parts of our order was missing. The waitress sighing and rolling her eyes when we just asked for the missing parts of our order.

The food itself was fine - standard pub grub and was nice. The outdoor seating area was lovely for a sunny day.

Looks nice but took a long time for food to arrive. I get that it's busy at lunch time but as we arrived before it got too busy and people arriving later gets served before us isn't great. Once we did get our food the gammon and chicken were basically charcoal. Bbq gravy was nice though but we won't be coming back.

Food is great, staff are either non existent or just do not acknowledge you at all. Ordering on the app is easy and safe time waiting for someone to actually take your order at the bar.

Brilliant place to eat, just the usual staffing issues most places are currently facing.

Booked a table and seated quickly. Barman got drink order wrong. Food came quickly enough. However we were shocked to see waitress help herself to some chips off a customers plate as she came through from kitchen ! and then proceed to serve them.

Not a great experience at all. About 20 minutes after ordering we were informed they had run out of sweet potato fries, I then chose to have a jacket potato instead. Our food took over 50 minutes to arrive, I think it had been sat under the hot plate for at least 30 of those minutes, the whole meal was visibly dry, even the peas!
Jacket potato was awful, even using the 2 packets of butter provided the potato was still dry. Hunters chicken is usually oozing bbq sauce, this dish was very sparing and again dry. We haven’t been to the Fendrod for a long time and now we remember why

The food was great. We didn't have to wait that long, considering it was really busy. Staff were great, too. I used my meerkat app and saved 25%, too, which was also great. Going to go back next week as a treat for my family.

So the food was lovely. The 2 hour wait was not. They forgot about us and re cooked the table after us' food. But they did redeem themselves, the food when it did come out was delicious and we did get a free desert and drink to make up for it.
