The Gentry At Highgate

Really happy with my haircut which is a rarity. Josh chopped into my hair just enough and evenly which left a good shape for two weeks. Would definitely recommend and will return soon hopefully (it’s a fair few mile away).

Price-wise - fair.

Great haircuts from a small roster of staff who know what they're doing. Whether you're one for a chat while you're having a trim, or you prefer to be stare at the mirror in silence, they will provide excellent service, offer great banter, and you might even get a cheeky beer.

Terrible experience - Would give this no stars if I could. Completely by appointment now and it was made quite clear by one of the hairdressers when I walked in the door that my business wasn't wanted when I walked in the door as I didn't have an appointment. I dont have a lot of hair and it would literally take 10 minutes to cut my hair. I went in twice today to be refused because I didn't have an appointment - I will not be going back.

I refer a lot of people here and certainly won't be referring anyone else here until they change their customer service and approach. Go to David's instead (about 800 yards away) - cheaper, friendlier and no appointment required.

Since going to the Gentry I now know the difference between a hair dressers and a barbershop.

This place has a group of friendly staff, all of whom have helped me with my wheelchair at one time or another. There is quite a large step in, so if you're a wheelchair user you will have to get out of you're chair and use crutches (double the hight of a curb).

I highly recommend Jasmin at The Gentry in Kendal. A lovely, friendly person with what seems like a constant smile and has always done a perfect job on my hair!

The offer of free drinks is a nice touch as well. Not just tea or coffee but bottled drinks as well. And the contents of their drinks globe is mind boggling!

Edit 18/12/2020: I had a beard trim yesterday as well as a hair cut. I couldn't fault it, even if I wanted too. Cut throat on my cheeks to tidy them up, a general trim and mustache was tidied up. Again, Jasmin did a great job.

I had my haircut this afternoon by Olly very nice lad, really happy with my Skin fade what I noticed that he took his time which I what I liked about him and made sure everything was right . Felt welcome I would highly recommend Olly

Decent hair cuts and always guaranteed a good laugh during a visit. Great banter between staff and customers, highly recommended (but not if you're prudish...)!
