Sweenys barber shop

Good:
Not too expensive, general haircut £9.50
2/3 of the employees give good haircuts and interpret my requests well without having to ask me lots of details about the cut I want.
The same 2 employees are quite nice to talk to, moreso the man

Bad:
The third employee, who I will just describe as the woman with lighter hair, simply is not up to the standard of the other two. She will ask about many specifics of the haircut; how exactly to do the sides, the back, and the length of hair to cut off. All types of questions, especially the last one, which the other two don't ask me, and so I can't give specific answers. I like a barber/hairdresser who uses their intuition to decide how a cut should be done. This employee doesn't do it.

Even after the specific questions, the result is not as good as with those who take the more simple approach (not just the other 2 employees, this applies to other barbers/hairdressers I've been to). I think she lacks the ability to just 'go with the flow' when cutting to see what works best for a certain person. Furthermore, she is not as careful when cutting hair, often pulling on it harder than others, leading to some discomfort.

I should also note that whilst my assessment may seem harsh, I have heard of a few others complain about the employee as well.

Overall:
This place is pretty good, but you can be in for a bad experience if you are allocated to one of the employees, and the cut you require is not a very simple one.

Not sure what the other guy is on about but I went there today, it was the first time having my hair cut in over 3 years due to a brain op and have since had a hair transplant. The best £9.50 I've ever spent and it was the female employee who did it.

Lived in Dunstable since 1981. Always had my haircut at Sweenys. Very friendly staff and quick, time it right and straight into a chair. Always a great haircut whoever you get.
Moved to the Isle of Wight 2 years ago but try to make a haircut visit on a monthly basis when I visit Luton.

I've been getting my hair cut here for almost my whole life (30 years). An excellent family run business where the staff are always friendly. They're doing a great job making sure everyone's as safe as possible during the coronavirus pandemic too.

Took my elderly father for a haicut where he was treated so well and respectfully by both staff and customers. Well done Sweeneys you were great. 👍

Whenever I get my hair cut here the barber always does a fantastic job and the conversation we have is great!

Best barber shop in Dunstable. You cannot get anyone better then Paul and Jane to cut both adults or children's hair
