A great little lodging house tucked away in a quiet corner of the oldest part of Shepton Mallet. Comfortable, attractive & well appointed accommodation at an extremely reasonable price. The Old Masonic Lodge makes an excellent and relaxed base from which to explore Bath, Bristol, Wells & Glastonbury, all within a 20 minute drive or so. We had three nights there in the middle of April and had such a warm and welcoming reception from the owners Jez and Jean, who were incredibly friendly and looked after us splendidly while we were there. Highly recommended and hope to be back there soon.

Truly a hidden gem, cheap, clean and comfortable. The tripple C everyone looks for. Beautiful rooms and gracious hosts, I couldn't ask for a more pleasant stay.

Although described as a budget guest house - I think the facilities on offer were of a nice high standard. Everything was pleasant, accessible and clean. Bed was deceptively comfortable. Host was a delight. Would definitely return when we visit the area again (well situated to use as a base to explore Glastonbury, Wells and surrounding areas, even Cotswolds pretty close)

Wonderful hosts. Beautiful garden to sit with a glass of something. Room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed, gleaming en-suite shower room. Easy on street parking. Highly recommended staying here. Breakfast was a simple cereal & toast, croissants and fruit, in a shared kitchen, which was also spotless. Tea & coffee available whenever required. Breakfast was self serve and take back to your room or I suppose you could always sit in the beautiful garden. If you're looking for comfortable clean easy accommodation with a short walk in to the town then staying here is a MUST! You will not regret it. Thank you to Jean & Jez for all your help, I couldn't have found better hosts anywhere.

We had a lovely stay. It is an old building and is well maintained.
We stayed for 2 nights, we were in the double room and my daughter in the single. The rooms were clean, comfortable and charming!
There is a small kitchen between the bedrooms so you can help yourself to a basic breakfast (cereal, bread, pastries) which was perfect for us. You can also cook your own meals if needed.
The owner, Jean, is lovely.

The only negative, which wasn't the owners fault, was we were woken up by another guest about 6am rattling around the kitchen and seemed like they making as much noise as they could!

A lovely little lodge nestled into the heart of Shepton Mallet. Stayed here with my parents and my children when visiting my brother nearby. The rooms are amazing and the bathrooms are kitted out to a really amazing standard. A shared kitchen is a novel idea. Breakfast is a self service mixture of cereal and pastries. Would be better if full English/Cooked breakfast was offered as well as part of the price or additional cost, as some don't eat cereals of pastries. Having free, great WiFi is a huge bonus!!
Parking is a nightmare to be honest and is the only downside really, well that and the narrow streets in the town.
A really excellent nights sleep for us all, quiet and relaxing. Good facilities and the hosts are very welcoming and communicative.
Best place we have stayed when visiting the area by a long shot and a good price for the rooms too.
Would definitely recommend staying here, as it is very quaint, only a few rooms here which makes it quiet a personal visit, and the whole building has a great feel to it.
Thanks for having us!
