Booked rooms for 16 people, which was basically a whole building.
Rooms were comfortable and well equipped.
We had use of 2 kitchens, and there were bathroom facilities on each floor which was great.
Had breakfast, which was very nice, and there was a good range of foods - croissants, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, toast, cereal, yogurt, fruit, tea, coffee and fruit juice.
Catering and cleaning staff were absolutely lovely!
Booking was easy, and Regency House is in a good location.

This pension was nicely renovated (rooms and shared bathroom) but it has kept it's old British house charm. There is an electric kettle, hot cocoa, tea and coffee in the room which is a nice welcoming touch. Very clean. The towels and sheets have a bleach scent, not the best perfume but you know it is clean so I really liked it. I didn't have time to sit and eat breakfast, but I did take a freshly baked croissant to eat... So it should be good.

The staff were very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The food was well priced, portions were generous and served hot and promptly. Great atmosphere.

No Frills accommodation
But perfectly functional for its purpose.
Good communication with management. Perfect location for the attractions. Slightly spoiled by no working hot water sink tap or plug. Not
dealt with within our stay time although
raised with management . Competitively priced for the City.

It was quite the horrible experience and the room was not clean. Firstly, my colleague got COVID and even though we paid extra to be able to refund, they refused to do so and only offered 80% hotel credit for our next stay. They even suggested he come with COVID. I will not be taking the voucher for the following: the toilet rim was covered in urine, the shower drain was full of hair and flooded, and the bed had a few loose hairs from previous guests. I am not staying at this hotel even for free and the manager was rude and close minded. This is not how you run a business so please don’t make the same mistake as me, stay somewhere that cares for the guests and doesn’t refuse accountability.

This review is solely based on the conversation that I had with Charlotte and her low-level customer support skills.

I booked a room as I was planning to stay in Cambridge after a Christmas Party. This was at 10PM on Wednesday. The room was booked for Saturday. Come Thursday morning I felt rough and had a lateral flow test which turned to be positive for COVID. I raised a query with Airbnb support and they said not to worry, if I get the PCR back as positive they will cancel the booking and refund me.

I sent a message over to Charlotte to touch base and update her on the situation. I got a straight ‘no refund if you have COVID’. More like a 2 cents generic message. I changed my tone in the conversation and explained that Airbnb support thinks differently, at which point she replied ‘we go by our policy’. Funnily enough Airbnb then said ‘our policy overrides the host’s cancellation policy if you have COVID’.

Fast forward 24hrs I tested positive on the PCR test and Airbnd refunded me the £134 Charlotte wanted to keep 12hrs after I made the booking.

I’ll pay the extra £80 and go Hilton next time I want to book a room in town. Not worth the hassle with this so-called ‘hotels’.

Lovely person Charlotte is.

First of all the customer ‘service’ we had from Estella was shocking, incredibly rude. The interior was tatty, looks like there was some attempt at recent renovations but overall very scabby inside. Check in is awkward and difficult when you don’t know your room number in advance. Also the rooms are very noisy as close to a main road. Do yourself a favour and try stay somewhere nicer in Cambridge.
