Stay here if you like a relaxed tranquil location and setting, you don’t mind getting on with things yourself and sharing facilities with others. I believe most room are en suite. Our huge downstairs room wasn’t, but we never saw anyone else use the bathroom, which was nextdoor to our room. Nor did we have to wait and it was always clean and tidy ready for use.

Don’t expect it to be like a hotel. No reception or restaurant. But Catherine is always darting around making sure we were ok and doing everything she could to make our stay a pleasurable one.

Stunning house, felt like royalty! Lovely outdoor heated pool, beautiful grand rooms with loads of light and space. Fridge microwave and kettle in our room and use of kitchen, lounge and dining room whenever we liked.

A hidden treasure, can’t wait to go back and bring more friends and family. Thanks Catherine, we love your home Lingwood Hall.

Great location for us. Great setting. Woke up to the birds, lovely. The room was large and airy, fully equipped. Our host met us with a smile, and advice for a local taxi ( who was great). Will definitely think of staying again.

Disappointing. When we arrived our room was not yet ready, despite it being after the check in time. The key to our door did not fit so we had to leave our door unlocked on day 1. They were very apologetic about this. But the room was also not up to scratch, with dust covering the back of the toilet, cobwebs and spiders in the corners of the rooms and the bed sheets were old and ripped at the corners. This was not very reassuring to see whilst we're in a global pandemic. The booking.com site has clearly not been updated for a long time as it says continental breakfast is offered but on arrival we were told they can only do some toast. online it also says that a lounge is available and other facilities but as there is no information in the room we had no idea what was and wasn't available, so would benefit from a welcome book with info. All in all the place is tired and is not the high quality that one would think from the website and booking pages.

Lovely and huge family room with en suite, gorgeous character mixed with fabulous interior design and comfy beds. We were able to take our dog also.
Recommend and will be going back

Stayed Dec 2021. Please do not stay here. I work very hard in the NHS every penny counts and was desperate to spend quality time with my husband. Turned up to find mould & filth everywhere. Kitchen appliances were vile, not clean in fact this looked like it had not been cleaned for months. Emailed owner no response. Called & my concerns wers dismissed, owner very rude & put phone down on me. I was not rude just honest & added I had photos & video I could send her as she told me she was away and could not come & see the extent of the issues raised. The photos & video speak for themselves

Booked for me by my work I always give 5 stars.
I arrived after a 14+ hour day. It is very rural with no on site catering, but room had a kettle, microwave, toaster and fridge. I was given an attic room and told the shower was not working and to use one in the floor below. I did not stay, opting for a hotel in the town centre, near food. Host tried their best to be accommodating.

Important context: My experience was a 1 night stay and does not represent this establishment in it's entirety. No-one in hospitality sets out to provide a poor experience. Anyone can have an off day

Pleasant place. It’s pretty much someone’s home rather than a hotel - no check in desk or restaurant, but none the poorer for that. Very welcoming owner and simple but comfortable rooms. Two very friendly cats will come and say hello too. There’s a heated pool outside for use even after you’ve checked out and a communal sitting room. I’d go again

The springs in the bed mattress were on the surface, and we realised that it had been turned. When we looked at the side with memory form, which we SHOULD have been sleeping on, it was SOILED and Disgusting. I could not contact the owner, the phone was turned off. We did not sleep, and it was a fine hour journey home, so leaving was not an option at that hour. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
