We've been staying at Sawdays places for years and this is the best of the lot. Alice welcomes you with tea in lovely silver guilt pots with freshly baked cake and the house is full of James' fabulous art work and fascinating family memorabilia.
The rooms are large but cosy with comfortable beds and luxurious cotton sheets and views of the gorgeous countryside.
Breakfasts are made to order with local fresh produce and topped off with Alice's homemade jams and marmalade.
If you want to stay in an unpretentious but authentic English country house, this is it. An absolute gem.
