Clayhillhouse

Such a lovely, homely, cosy place. We only stayed one night but wish we had booked longer. Great breakfast, comfortable beds, peaceful surroundings, amazing host. Definitely recommend staying here and hope to visit again one day.

Beautiful house, room, food and location; all with extras. Lyndhurst is a wonderful place with unique little shops, stunning countryside, wild life, horses and donkeys. The locals are friendly too. Clayhill House is beautiful, a character filled home surrounded by an intriguing array of colourful birds that you can watch feeding through the window at breakfast. The bedroom was lovely, typical cottage shape with a very comfortable bed and pillows, and welcoming extras like a little bowl of boiled sweets, a couple of chocolate bars and some select biscuits. The beverages even extended from the usual tea and coffee to hot chocolate and bottled water. Everything was spotless and well placed. There was even a little sitting room downstairs. The road is a busy one but it didn’t disturb our comfort and peace, we do wear earplugs at night anyway. The breakfast was perfect, the best we had this holiday. The menu was perfect, all with freshly laid eggs, qeverything beautifully cooked and in generous amounts. I loved the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, the rack of toast was of good bread and a selection of home made preserves and honey were provided.

Very clean and comfortable . Lovely big cosy room and a wonderful breakfast. An ideal spot for exploring the new forest . Chris and Margaret are very welcoming and gave us ideas for eating and drives in the forest.
We will be staying there again soon .

Beautifully presented B & B with 3 guest bedrooms. Great breakfast, ample off road parking. We walked into Lyndhurst and additional walks to neighbouring forest. Would certainly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, first visit to the New Forest for my friend & we'll be back. Main reason was a wedding on the Sunday & our host Chris gave us a lift there. Really homely feel & nothing too much trouble. Room spacious & very comfortable.

Location is very convienient and close to walks. Only down side is that it is next to a very busy road.
Room was very nice and clean, and food was really good. We really enjoyed our stay here.

A wonderful visit to a home away from home! This is my first time staying here and it was on business, the hosts were kind and caring as well as very informative about the local area as I wanted to walk into lyndhurst. About 20 mons on pavements into the town and many delicious local pubs! The room was fantastic, fitted with anything and everything I could want, it felt very thought out and comfortable. I agree with the other reviews about the road however if you are okay sleeping with that then it shouldn't ever be too loud, there is a room away from the road to try. I want to thank my wonderful hosts when I left my keys to the bnb in my car that got locked into a carpark they were all too willing to help even when they were out to dinner, I made it back safe although rather embarrassed.

A warm welcome, a fantastic room with all the facilities you could wish for. The breakfast was out of this world, great choices and the eggs are fresh from their own hens that live in the back garden. Would definitely recommend.
