An absolutely beautiful venue with stunning gardens. A group of 13 of us were lucky enough to be able to book rooms here to celebrate a hen do.

The bedrooms were tastefully decorated and the beds were super comfy. The showers were powerful and the bathrooms were clean. The breakfast in the morning was at 8-9:30am and served a range of cereal, yogurts, toast, crumpets, pancakes cheese and meats.

We were also able to hire a room in the Glenfall House to run a tea party. The room was perfect, had large comfy seating and a beautiful view of the gardens.

However, in my opinion the best thing about this venue is the staff. The staff are so accommodating and are keen to make sure you have everything you need or want. They were very approachable and a delight to talk to both in person and via email before arrival. They booked our taxis, took a few photos of the group and even opened the bar for us late at night with short notice.

A truly beautiful place with wonderful staff, I would definitely recommend a stay here!

On reflection of the experience encountered for the wedding of our Grandson over the weekend 09 / 10 Oct 21, I would like to share my disappointment within the following areas.

1. For the cost of a room plus breakfast at £325.00 per night, we found that there was a used bottle top and ball by the head of the bed on the floor, dead flies / insects along the bottom of the windows and used soap x 2 in the bathroom. The cleanliness and health protections / provisions / precautions are not acceptable and not what we were expecting for such a grand venue, and as you quote on your website "Luxury Bedrooms". We also had an A4 sheet of information provided stating that you were COVID 19 compliant.

2. We had a call from a relative in another room who was having a shower and they did not have any towels in their room, we found some towels in an open store room opposite our room and was able to take a few round for them to use.

3. The room before our room had the door propped open with the full view of the room which had not been sanitised or prepared since the previous occupants had vacated, the bed was visible with used bedding / sheets.

Your letter / information sheet we had on arrival and in the room, we stayed in, states the following:
‘We appreciate it is such an uncertain time for everyone at the moment, I would like to tell you a little about what we are doing to ensure we are Covid secure. We are sanitising all bedrooms before you stay with us, we also have hand sanitiser through-out the venue for your use’.
This evident that COVID 19 precautions have not been carried out to the Health & Safety requirements expected for an organisation who provides a service to the public and this concern has been reported to the Health & Safety Executive.

4. The whole breakfast experience was poor with a lack of staff and attention to detail with not enough seating for guests, this was very embarrassing for the Bride & Groom and those that had nowhere to sit for breakfast. The layout and food available or lack of, including the lack of coffee / tea / soft drinks was not what we were expecting for the price that we have been charged. We had to constantly ask for more coffee as there just was not enough to go round. The cooked breakfast was very disappointing with cold plates and therefore cold food, the mushrooms were cold and not fresh as looked like they came out of a tin and the bacon was like rock and covered in white fat and beans were also cold. A very poor presentation and the quality of the food served was not what was expected for such a high charging venue. The food displayed on your website look's nothing like the breakfast we were actually served.

5. No member of staff was visible on our arrival and Groom was doing all the running around, no staff uniforms or name tags visible.

In reply to the comments above we were offered a 30% refund if we removed our review, which I found quite insulting and not acceptable.

Looking back on previous reviews in relation to the poor standards compared with the advertisement of 'Luxury', and 'Luxury' is what we expected for the price of £325.00 per night, the experience that we encountered during our stay was very disappointing and the issues I have raised have not changed and is an ongoing issue which has not been addressed effectively in the past to ensure they do not happen again in the future.

We should have paid more attention to the bad reviews before staying with this poorly, unprofessionally run organisation and will definitely not be staying in the future and would recommend that you consider other venues which are most attentive and caring of the customer rather than making money.
Overall, my Wife and I were very disappointed with the whole experience and our stay at Glenfall House which is a shame as the location and venue is far superior to the service provided and the poor quality of food compared with that quoted on their website.
