Ravenscroft B&B

Beautiful room (we had the purple room). Hosts Philip and Nick couldn’t have been more friendly and hospitable. We were made to feel very welcome and at home. A great place to stay if you have a dog as Millie and Daphne were very welcoming too! The house is beautiful set in lovely gardens. There is a great park for the dogs just behind the house. The food was exceptional, thanks to Philip. Couldn’t recommend Ravenscroft highly enough. Well worth a stay!

Beautiful house. Lovely hosts and the rooms are just fantastic, opulent and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding and the host couldn't do enough for us. This beautiful place is a real treat tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Mansfield. Definately a must when visiting the family.

Dishonest owners and fed a pack of lies. Would rate a 0 score if I could. What a shame :-(

It is a shame that I am having to write this review, but I feel that it is necessary due to my terrible experience dealing with the proprietors over the past 2 months. Having stayed here previously, a stay that was very successful, I decided to return as I was working in the area once again. I made the reservation directly with Nick (early July 2022), avoiding a 3rd party site, and paid for the room upfront, prior to my arrival, a week or so in advance. A few days before I was due to arrive my work plans changed, so I requested a full refund within the timeframe stated at the time of booking. I spoke to Nick a few times over the next week or so as I had yet to receive my refund. He gave me the reasons as to why I hadn't been refunded but I was assured that my money was on its way back to me by midnight. I have still not received it! It is now apparent to me that I was given a sob story (believe you me it was a sob story) and fed a pack of lies to pacify my requests. I have since sent numerous emails , tried to telephone several times and sent text messages regarding my request. All of which are unanswered. If only I had used the 3rd party booking site, I would have received my refund without any issue.

Needless to say I shall not be giving them any more of my money and will not be returning when I will undoubtedly be in the area again.

We recently stayed here for a second time. The house is set back in a quiet, residential road, and has an ornate fountain in the front garden which is wonderfully lit up in the evenings. The interior is uniquely stylish and flamboyant, with spotlessly clean bathrooms and crisp bed linen. In particular I love the breakfast room, which is grand yet homely too. Our host (Phil) was very welcoming and even provided a free, delicious, full English breakfst for our son, who popped by one morning. Great place to stay if you want somethg a bit different.

Ravenscroft has a beautiful atmosphere with character and charm oozing from it. Sean was attentive and so friendly. He couldn't have done more for us. We will definitely visit again. The house was so clean and tidy and had all the finishing touches you would need for a special stay. Thanks xx

The hosts were incredibly helpful throughout the stay and perfectly adapted to our dietry needs. Mini fridge in the room was stocked too which was very nice, fresh flapjacks and plenty of other nice touches in the room such as fresh flowers. A wonderful time to be had, two lovely dogs Daphne and Millie who kept us company at breakfast too. Certainly recommend to anyone.

Beautiful House with plenty of character and amazing glamour. Breakfast was superb and our host Sean was lovely and friendly and helpful. Will visit again.

Very welcoming hosts in beautiful surroundings. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend a visit here. 😊
