We stayed here for three days and it couldn't have been better, it's very peaceful. The room was very clean, comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The location is great, with the Strode arms nearby serving up great evening meals. Simon and Alyson are great hosts with nothing being too much trouble, I would certainly recommend this B&B and will definitely be re booking, thanks for a lovely stay. Ray & Zita.

Absolutely fantastic stay in an incredible room. Hosts brilliant, lots of unexpected little touches, breakfast excellent with quality ingredients, including home cure bacon, home made sausages, eggs from their own hens. Breakfast selection fantastic. We'll visit again. Keep smiling 🙂

Another fantastic stay! This was our second time staying this year and we will be back again. Alyson and Simon are perfect hosts. The Old Stables is 10/10 on every measure for a countryside break - the location, the accommodation and the incredible breakfast. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

We came from here yesterday and wow what a place.
Alyson and Simon are wonderful hosts. Super helpful and friendly without being overbearing.
The common area is really cosy and welcoming with lots of books and games. We had breakfast here and talked to the other couples staying about their days plans (picking up hints and tips).
Our room was the Granary which was to the right of the main common area up some stairs, also had a very cosy feel to it, although is huge. A very comfy bed with amazing pillows. Lovey bath and separate shower with possibly the best water pressure I've ever experienced.

I haven't stayed in many B&Bs. I am fussy and stay in mainly hotels, but since the pandemic me and my partner have been exploring more of this country and staying in different places and this is hands down my favourite place. When I tell you it's a little piece of heaven it really is.

Also ideally located for a hub for places such as Bath, National Heritage sites, Longleat, Cheadar Gorge, Wells, Bradford Upon Avon and many more.

Thank you for having us

Great B&B with friendly hosts. Very dog friendly and a super breakfast too. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable, in a great setting as well. We look forward to returning in future!
