I was hugely disappointed with my experience with the George Inn.
My partner and I were going to have our wedding reception there. We had met up with the owner several times, we went through plans, sorted everything and was just waiting for a signature to confirm it all before we paid the deposit. After a few times of chasing, we get a very short email from the owner to cancel, just 3 months before our wedding. At this point we had sent out all of our invitations to our guests and even recommended staying in the stables, as we had agreed. We are now having to inform all of our guest to no longer go there but also we are now trying to find a venue and caterer in such a short time for a Saturday in July. It is ridiculous.
It was cruel to lead us on for such a long time and to just cancel when we had an arrangement.
3 months before my wedding I did not expect to be stressed and have this worry on me. It has ruined the excitement a little bit, but better now as I would so much rather go and spend my money somewhere else. We will never be stepping foot in here and do not recommend it to anyone.

Very disappointed with The George Inn. We and some friends had 2 rooms booked and paid for, for the Formula 1 in July of this year. Both us and our friend have been contacted to say the rooms have been cancelled (Administration error) and the price of the rooms have now doubled!

Only given them 1 start as unable to leave 0 stars.

Will not use this place again!

Great service serving normal pub drinks plus amazing cocktails thrown in with a fab view across the valley. If you want food ring up before hand as they didn't have a chef when we went. Still had nuts, crisps and pork scratchings.

It's a shame that people in the trade charge so much money for so little. Basic rooms not a coat hanger in site bed against the wall so if you need to get out of bed during the night you have to climb over your partner to use the WC, Then they think £125 for one night is OK. NO BREAKFAST INCLUDED. After 25 years in the trade I find it increadable. Premier in in Nw4 is 42.50 per night. 10 times better than the goerge. There is a saying, Never kill the goose that lays the golden egg

Very nice staff , very accommodating. However, rooms can be very small , and when we stayed we found out there was no breakfast on offer the next morning, so calling it a B&B is / was misleading, its a B , without the morning B.
So unfortunately, dispite very nice people working there , I can only give 2*.

Returning after a few years. Was so glad I did. The atmosphere was amazing. Great to see George the Manager who I knew from an old pub I used to frequent. Patrick the owner stopped to have a chat with us too. The chef delivered in terms of food. Both the burger and the sandwich were excellent. They even served us pudding. Which they do not normally do at lunch time! I highly recommend that you get down to the The George at Wilby. You will not be disappointed!!!
