I can only review the SHOCKING customer service for this establishment, as I had to cut short my walking holiday 3 days before arrival at the Oast, due to injury. As a result I fully expected to lose my £30 deposit for the £60 room - after all that's what a deposit is for.

I booked via email, so I cancelled by email immediately I knew I wasn't going to be able to continue the walk. I quickly got a reply saying the £30 balance would be taken from my card. I questioned this and an email back-and-forth ensued. While this discussion was going on the £30 balance was taken from my account. The hosts had no interest whatsoever in engaging with me over the matter, they felt they were within their rights and just took the money. This may or may not be legal, I'm not sure, but it's certainly not what good customer service looks like.

The host responded to my emails with an arrogant and belittling tone, quoting his terms and conditions and telling me how I should have paid attention before I booked. I had to cancel 5 other bookings on this walk and none of them charged me anything beyond the lost deposit.

There are plenty of other places to stay in Settle that actually care about customer service, you'd be much better off choosing one of them, than taking your chances here.

Really disappointed in my stay here, my friends and I were doing a charity walk, we were made to feel uncomfortable on arrival and breakfast was a disaster we were accused of eating somebody else’s blueberries....a real shame.
