We have stayed here twice and on both occasions we have been spoilt rotten by Paula who not only provides the most comfortable accommodation we have experienced in B&B/Self catering but lots of little extras such as fresh homemade bread, preserves, cereals, fresh eggs from her own hens.. The farm is tucked away up a farm track, but our Honda Jazz had no problems even in the rain. Stag Cottage is very comfortable, the sitting/dining/ kitchen is really well equipped and cozy with the log burner. The bedroom with en-suite shower room rivals that of some decent hotels we have stayed in. We slept very well. To sum up. A lovely quiet getaway, close to some beautiful scenic spots and the cities of Derby and Nottingham. We will definitely return.

Absolutely lovely place to stay if you’re looking for somewhere with piece and quiet. Paula and Simon are brilliant hosts and nothing has been too much trouble for them making my long term stay comfortable whilst I’m working at Heanor. Everything is readily available at Stag Cottage so the only thing you need to take is your food and drinks. I have made friends with their dog and little Tommy the cat

A perfect home from home - Stag Cottage is extremely comfortable and quiet. There is everything you need for self catering, the bed is comfortable and it's all very clean. The country setting up a farm track away from traffic is perfect for a quiet break but you are only minutes from the village. And Paula and Simon are perfect hosts - friendly and helpful at all times. We have already booked a second visit - that's the proof of great accommodation!

We've stayed here twice now and it's been perfect on both occasions. Paula and Simon are such great hosts and were so accommodating of us and our rather bouncy dog. Our daughter loved seeing the animals on the farm. The cottage was perfect for 3 of us for our most recent week long stay and it's super convenient to get either in to Derby city or out to the beautiful countryside surrounding. We've been back and would happily return again
