Wow wow wow. This place is incredible. From the moment we arrived Natalie and Mark were incredibly welcoming and helpful. Our rooms were clean, cosy and very comfortable. They'd also left homemade cakes in the rooms which were absolutely delicious!

They're garden is absolutely stunning and whilst we were breakfast we enjoyed watching deer grazing just through the trees.

The breakfast was one of the best we've ever had in a BnB - so many options and all just as delicious as the next - the details and effort they went to was next level. Their dog even gifted a little toy to ours! 🥰

I can't recommend this place any higher - it was an absolute pleasure from arrival to departure. Thank you Natalie and Mark! X

myself and my partner jack stayed here on our recent Great Glen way running trip, we had run from Fort William to Fort Augustus 35 miles and we arrived in Fort Augustus very tired and weary, we messaged the B&B and they were amazing, hey drove down to pick us up and also arranged to get us a takeaway! this was incredibly welcoming after running 35 miles. When we got back to the B&B it was super comfortable clean and set in a lovely location. Natalie Kindly kept our takeaway warm whilst we had a shower and then offered to bring it up to our room ! they were absolutely amazing and all you can ask for top notch service. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and as a vegan they really went out of the way to cook me a hearty breakfast and make sure we had plenty to eat. all in all amazing service, beautiful rooms clean and comfortable and everything you could want in a wonderful part of the world. Thank you Natalie & Mark for being such wonderful hosts ! you made our trip !!! clare & jack

We spend 2 weeks traveling through Scotland and stayed in 7 different B&B's. This one was by far the best one. Everything it very well thought out. The owners are lovely. The atmosphere is just amazing.

The only bad thing about staying here is that every other B&B you go to afterwards will feel like a dump.

To Natalie & Mark of the Kettle House Bed & Breakfast….

The BIGGEST of thank you’s for making our four-night stay at Fort Augustus so pleasurable & memorable… It was very difficult to leave at the end of our stay.

This was our first visit to Scotland and the Highlands, we arrived at Kettle house from Stirling at around 5:00pm. When we arrived, we were met with the most friendly and embracing welcome we have ever experienced in a long time… amazing. We had a large amount of luggage, seven pieces of varying sizes in all and a small dog with all its own luggage too.
We stayed in Room 4, although the room seemed to be small when you open the door, for us there was plenty of ‘walk-around’ space. Once we had settled… it was a if our luggage had almost disappeared.
The bed was extremely comfortable indeed.
In the room we were welcomed with a generous complimentary tea and coffee facilities, a mini fridge…and… the very touching detail of two VERY NIVE cupcakes… :-)
We were shown what could only be described as a five-star bathroom. It was a beautifully presented, clean, modern, spacious and welcoming bathroom exuding attention to detail, with a walk-in modern shower which had a perfectly positioned built-in space in the wall, WITH LIGHTING, for all our showering products…. Fantastic.
To the right of the bathroom was a cupboard for clothing… as we have a full size one in our home… I would describe this as a miniature walk-in wardrobe, there were shelves and plenty of hangers. There was also an ironing board with iron, a tub of eco-friendly cutlery for our use… and… a generous supply of dvds for the dvd player built into the tv.
The ‘Breakfast Room’, each room had it’s own table with a very generous selection of sereals, orange juice, fruit etc. The breakfast menu was varied and well thought out… and was very nice… and… my wife says… ‘cooked with love’… !!thank you so much for the boiled eggs and toasted ‘soldier-shaped’ soldiers…. So SO funny. what a detail…:-) !!

All-in-all, the service we received was ‘top-knotch’… we highly recommend Kettle House, especially if visiting Loch Ness.
One thing is sure, since we have falling in love with the Highlands… we plan to return as much as possible… with Kettle House as our… ‘home from home’.

Many, many thanks,

Cinzia & Francisco.

Where do i start? This is the second time we've stayed at Kettle house, the first being a few years back. Before you even enter the house you will be taken aback by their most wonderful garden! It is absolutley stunning with fairy gardens, a little bridge, beautiful bird houses and much much more. There is a gazebo with cards and a lantern you can sit in if you wish. Which is exactly what we done after our dinner with a bottle of bubbles :)
Nat and Mark are the most welcoming hosts and nothing is a problem. Even when we left without our key and locked ourselves out they were so helpful which alleviated a bit of the embarrassment (sorry again!) All covid precautions are in place and the most thoughtful touches of cupcakes in your room, a mini fridge and DVDs for you to watch really takes this place above the rest. Beds very comfy. Breakfast was spectacular with a fantastic choice of menu plus cereals, jams etc. Great veggie options too which was very much appreciated.
Despite seeing changes to Fort Augustus in terms of the tourism and campsite going (being changed into what looks like chalets). Kettle house really is a must stay place. Such a homely, relaxing and wonderful atmosphere. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to visit the area and hope to see Nat, Mark and wee Willow (pooch) again sometime in the near future.

Definitely a 6 star experience. The hosts have thought of everything and go the extra mile to make the stay great - cupcakes in the room. Some rooms are up a steep staircase, but they are immaculately clean and had very soft towels - not the usual hotel type. A lot of thought has gone in to keeping the rooms and public areas covid secure. Good breakfast with lovely hampers on the table of everything you could want. Nice 20 walk through the golf course and along the canal into Fort Augustus. Lovely garden with separate seating areas and summer houses

Myself and the misses, and our dog, spent 6 great days here, and I must say that it was money very well spent. Everything was just perfect, Natalie and Mark are a great team.
The B&B I feel is perfectly situated if you want to tour, say a 90 mile radius from Fort Augustus ( We did the Isle of Skye and back, not rushing it in 1 day ) You can also walk into the village in under 15 to 20 min's walk, via the main road, or take the scenic route via the golf course and canal.
I think the Loch at Fort Augustus is better than Neptune's Staircase in Fort William, the reason for this is because you can buy your fish and chips and take them to a seating area, and enjoy them in great surroundings. There are of course other eating outlets available to you too, and pubs as well.
Our room was comfortable and clean.
You get a choice of multiple breakfast variants, and the way it's presented is top notch. You must try the boiled egg and soldiers, just wait and see how it turns up, it's just brilliant, and it made us laugh. Our room had a small fridge and that's something you don't get in some hotels. Nothing was too much trouble, and it's blatantly obvious that Natalie loves dogs. There is a large garden that you are free to wander around anytime of the day or evening.
If you can find something to moan about here, then do yourself a favour, and stay at home.
Why stay in an overpriced hotel, when you can stay in a place that's home form home.
