Outstanding, the Old Rectory could well be the best B&B in Wales. Hard earned money has been spent on this place and it shows, it oozes quality and the attention to detail is easy to see. Hats off to the owners, if you visit their website you'll see they're also internet savvy too. This place is a home from home, excellent interior only outdone by the beautiful views of the lake and hills outside. This place is fantastic but make sure you check out the local pub, it too is an 'experience', albeit of a different kind.

We went here for a lovely meal. Although we were dressed for camping, the staff were very helpful, friendly and non judgmental. We will certainly visit here again and maybe book a room!

Called in to this lovely place today off chance after being let down by another place ,we were welcomed by John and Ricky and team . The Welsh black cattle society had a meeting today of which 16 members moved in for the day . It was their day off but we were looked after fantastically .

After driving over 4 hours we googled a place to grab a beer or two and came across the beautifully quiet Pen-y-Bont (opposite this place on the lake). Whilst sitting overlooking the most tranquil lake we've ever sipped a nice fresh one by we spotted The Old Rectory, so grabbed some blankets and wandered over to have a nap in the Garden. After 15 minutes we were greeted by a surprised owner of the B&B...."Can we help you".....We stared blankly......."Oh sorry......we've just drove from London and were having a nap before go to our hotel....." we replied....The host kindly insisted we remained put and enjoyed his garden. He popped up the road to the church returning after an hour or so just as I'd woken up and stood up to go and ask for a beer....too late.....he was already on it..."couple of beers boys!?" he shouted....YES PLEASE! The story continues however in short he gave us the beers on the house and wished us well on our onward journey....what a top chap - THANKS AGAIN!!! We'll be back (to pay the bill ;P)..... Whilst we didn't stay here as we already had a place booked so cannot comment on anything else; If you are looking for a genuinely nice host.....this is your place! Cheers - Steve and Dan :)

The room is very nice. The dinner was great, especially the dessert. My wife is alergic to diary and the chef made sure to fit the dishes to her needs. Thanks

We stayed here last year and it was one of the best holidays ever.
The hosts were amazing, really friendly and informative. It rained the whole time we were there, but they suggested good places to go and visit. We went to the castle. And walked round the lake.
The room we had was clean and comfortable. The food was great. In the evening we had a daily menu we could choose from during the day if we wanted dinner.
We're planning on going back.
Thank you both for a great experience
