DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE!
I wanted a soft bed, but the softest on display wasn't soft enough. The saleswoman explained that if I bought the same mattress but with a sprung-edge base instead of its current firm base, it may be softer. So I asked if I could try that out, by them moving the mattress onto the nearby sprung-edge base. She said no. I said how can I buy the bed without properly trying it?! She said, incredibly, that I had to 'imagine' how it would feel!
Then the manager stormed over - an incredibly rude, aggressive man - who shouted at me, saying they were not going to let me try this combination no matter how many times I asked. I said this is poor service, and told him about the poor reviews of the shop on Google. Instead of trying to improve his service, he shouted at me to leave the shop!! This was in front of the other customers! I left feeling stressed for the rest of the day! How do they possibly think they can sell beds treating people like this?! Appalling!
This might just be a problem at this branch rather than Bensons generally - I would never advise anyone to shop at this branch!
However, we are still currently in the process of Bensons for Beds mucking up our delivery. Twice we have been told we are receiving our bed but twice we have not! AND currently we do not know if we are getting our bed or not! Spending £2000 we do not feel this is acceptable!
Do not order from here!
All started well, the bed was delivered on time and by friendly delivery men. At the point when I started to unpack and assemble the bed, I became aware that the headboard was faulty. I called immediately and after some discussion, it was agreed that the headboard would be replaced with the old one collected and I would receive a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience. Perfect. Or so I thought.
A week later I received a call to let me know that the customer service agent had put the collection through wrong and that it *may* no longer be possible to collect the headboard. After a discussion, I was reassured they would try to arrange a Bensons lorry to take the headboard away.
This call was followed by an email to let me know that they could no longer do this and that I would have to arrange the removal of the new headboard. Bensons did offer to cover the council cost however this was creating a huge inconvenience for me, given I was already being asked to dismantle the bed and replace the headboard myself. I explained that I wouldn’t be able to coordinate this however Bensons showed no compassion or sympathy for my position. I would hate to think that an elderly or disabled person could be treated in this same manner. Not to mention the costs of having to get someone to assist with the dismantle and assembly.
The final straw was a condescending, unprofessional and accusatory email I received from the customer service agent. I have never been treated in such a manner by any company, ever.
The bed was collected today and was literally thrown in the back of a van so clearly will not be given a new home. It was disgusting to see such waste and disregard for the item. If Bensons are able to collect the bed, it is beyond me why they were unable to collect the headboard and instead decided to put me through so much stress. To top it off, they refused any goodwill gesture despite offering one for my inconvenience.
I will never buy from Bensons again and I urge you all to take caution - especially if you would struggle to assemble and dismantle the bed.
We felt that there should've been more sales advisors as we had to wait a long time, but we understood it was a busy day to the sale ending.
1. First of all, the items were delivered in a poor condition. The mattress was completely wet and dirty from one side. As stated by the delivery guy, there was a hole on the roof of the truck from where the water dripped for a long time.
2. One of the wardrobes was damaged from one side and unfortunately this side is on the room entrance. It is clearly visible to whosoever is entering the room and looking bad. Not worth the money.
3. One specific part was missing which is required to place one of the wooden slabs of the wardrobe. Due to which, the assembly guys were not able to complete the job.
4. The rear wooden sheet of both wardrobes is not perfectly assembled/ pasted to the inner panels due to which it creates a gap. It must be perfectly assembled so that the clothes will not stuck and tear.
5. The wardrobes' assembly was not satisfactory. Both are assembled loosely.
6. Our staircase wall got completely dirty during the logistics process. Now, we have to paint the area all over again which was done 2 weeks back.
7. Lastly, we have received 2 bedside tables against this order. Unfortunately, the quality was not up to the mark. It doesn’t look nice as that section of the wood is visible without paint. We already requested to exchange them but there is no communication received till now.
