Futon Company - Finchley Road

I'm giving 3 stars purely because of the quality. The sofa-bed was expensive and not easy to assemble. The instructions weren't clear. We managed to put it together somehow (by chance more like!). We still have major problems opening/closing the sofa-bed, as the plastic parts do not slide easily into the right place. Every time it is a 15-20 minutes struggle to put the bed back into the sofa mode.
Some of the smaller items we bought were of a poor quality either. The bathroom shelf had a part snapped in two during the assembling process. One of the toy tidies did not have the right amount of holes on the base side. I would have opted for a refund; however they do not offer refunds but exchanges or store credit only!
On the positive note, the textiles are very nice. Very happy with the sofa cover, pillows and the vibrant colours are a plus. The shop assistant is a very lovely lady, always smiling and very helpful too.
Also the store tends to have sale all the time which makes me wonder if it is a sale after all... summer sale, autumn sale, early spring sale, Easter sale what not...

I have had 2 very different experiences at this store. The first time was great and I was helped by a friendly woman who did a nice job showing me different items. But today, on my second visit to the store, I had the opposite experience. I selected several items to purchase and stood next to the checkout, just waiting to pay. There were 2 staff people in the store and I was the only customer. One staff person was standing at the checkout and was on the phone (presumably speaking to a prospective customer) and the other staff person kept walking up and down stairs, right past me, seemingly to fulfill another order for someone who was not in the store at the time. Neither of these staff people acknowledged me or made eye contact (and it’s a very small store). I stood there for 7 minutes like this, and then I returned the items to the shelves and quietly left. Neither of them tried to stop me and it seemed they could not have cared any less about my business. It was very disappointing because they do have nice things.

I try to keep my eyes peeled for when they've sale items. To my surprise, it really shouldn't be!😁 I found several items I needed, could afford and paid for delivery, and it came quick smart! I feel I did get bargains. I'm capable of shopping online, so I check out gumtree etc etc...but my experience of hiring man & van can prove problematic and expensive due to the now penalisation aimed at drivers! Afterwards, I rested and defrosted at local cafe & was home fast, days later my lovely parcels arrived & look forward to setting them up! When the snows defrost a bit!!...

I’m always welcomed on entering the shop and the staff are always helpful. Never over selling and never hovering when having a browse. An overall enjoyable shopping experience.

This store is a prime example of how customer service should be delivered- the store manager knows what she's doing!
There was a small issue with my order, and with a project deadline nearing the thought of sorting a replacement part was daunting. After 2 phone calls, the super lovely store manager and her team managed to get a quick turnaround on the missing part! Everything was carried out with such ease, and professionalism and smiles! I'll be back again! Thanks guys :)

I really struggle with decor and need a lot of help when deciding what’s right for my home. I was welcomed with a warm smile and immediate assistance. The lady, I believe to be the manager was so helpful and empathised with my struggle. Thank god she knew what she was talking about otherwise I would have been wondering aimlessly and made the wrong purchase. I will definitely be back for her assistance when I’m doing up my front room.
