Wow, super fast friendly service. Within seconds the owner had my bike was out of the car, booked in for a service and extras sorted. I've been looking for a bicycle company for a while. If you're wondering where to go and want a friendly atmosphere, with very no intimidation whatsoever this is the placed. I don't know why but I was very nervous about going in as a novice cyclist. But the guy who served me, made me instantly feel at ease. I've been to 3 other bike stores in the area and this is the one with the vest service. Why go anywhere else?

Terrible service from the manager however Ian is great. Purchased 5 inner tubes in 10 days and advised to buy new tyres which they fitted. Only to get the bike home and tyre was flat. Apparently its not the tyres now it's the manufacturer I bought if from 🙄. Something to do with the rim now, apparently. Also purchased 3 inner tubes from the shop for £10 and everytime they've fitted a new inner tube I have to buy a better version for £7. Why sell those tubes In the first place

The staff were amazing during COVID lockdowns, they helped me build and maintain three different bikes and the advice and service was second to none. I've been using them for nearly 3 years now. I would highly recommend.

Took my ebike here to sort issues I was having with my Bosch motor. The guys there were very helpful and very knowledgeable, they took the time to fully explain what was going on. Repaired my bike in time for my scheduled bike ride and at a very reasonable cost. Service like this is hard to come by these days, can’t recommend them enough. Will be my “go to” bike shop from now on👌

Living some 200 miles away, I was in Newport for work but also coupled with a track cycling at the Newport velodrome. A last minute change if gear resulted in me needing a new chain and in true fashion I left it to the same day of the racing...

Took it in to these guys at around dinnertime and they supplied and fitted my new chain, putting the wheels in and tensioning the chain, with me picking it up after work, ready for the racing on the night.

The guys were super helpful, and found myself staying in there a while just talking bikes... Could have easily spent the rest of the afternoon there!

I'd certainly recommend, and will certainly be returning the next time I'm in Newport.

I myself found the South Wales Bicycle Company on a website calling this store the best one in Newport and/or South Wales so I definitely had to check it out.

Upon arriving the (presumably) store owner greeted us in a very friendly manner, when I introduced myself and told him what I was looking for he took my upstairs (mountain bikes), gave my some useful pointers and what he thought was important for me to have or keep in mind and about 25 minutes later I drove out of there on a beautiful bike!

I honestly recommend this place with a full endorsement and hope you reading this have found your future bicycle shop too.

Super friendly, amazing stocked independent bike shop with a bunch of wonderful nostalgia and vintage treasures dotted about the place.

Simply one of the best bike shops I've ever been in. The two gents spent almost an hour finding me a very specific nut to allow me to go for a ride that night whilst I was in the area. The ride was fantastic in great weather and without the South Wales Bicycle Co I would've missed it! Thanks so much. Some fantastic bikes hung up in the shop if you've got the time to look and appreciate the history. Would give 6 out of 5 if I could!
