Happened to meet this lovely bookshop. It’s an expert for some field and many old books. With books smell.

International purchase was the most beautifully protected and packaged book I've ever had shipped. Very appreciative of the care taken to sent it safely!

Extensive book selection ✓
Book catalogued in the correct way ✓
Competitive prices ✓
Knowledgeable staff ✓

I'm an artist and I often struggle to find the books I need in both history of art and art itself.
Waterstones and similar are too commercial and most bookshops simply don't have the right catalogue I look for.
The Chaucer bookshop collection is extensive in every subject, here you find books that simply are not available on today's shelves.

All the other sections such as literature and novels are impressive too.

The shop I believe is grade listed and it has a fantastic look, a cornerstone of Canterbury and hopefully it will be a model for future bookshops.

This is a fantastic place to lose yourself and find some amazing books! Priced fairly and well laid out over two floors Chaucer bookshop is a must visit when in Canterbury!

Very good range, with good variety of normal, sometimes obscure books in good nick and antiquarian books. Perhaps slightly too aware of the value of their books, which is never a good quality in second hand shops.
