A rare gem, a lovely local bookshop with a 40 year history (2018) and still going strong. The poetry selection is particularly strong. There are thousands of expertly chosen books here and if they don't have it, it can be order for the next day.

Lovely little book shop. Always had what I was looking for!
There's also a model Thomas the tank engine train in the window that my daughter loved.

The best bookshop in the area. Very knowledgeable staff, the owner is wonderful and they stock a wide variety of genres and small presses. They also organise the occasional reading, which is a huge bonus. I love spending time in there!

Lovely independent bookshop with friendly and charming staff. Has a wide range of fiction and non fiction, and a dedicated children's book area at the back. Worth checking out.

We've all become so accustomed to getting the book that we want the day after we want it without moving from home. What's the point of a bookshop?
Well, I'm delighted to say that on this visit I rediscovered the simple pleasure of browsing, which affords you the opportunity to pick up other books related to your search and also plenty that are completely unrelated but just as fascinating.
Curiosity is the only tool you need.
Incidentally, the paperback I was looking for was not in stock, but arrived the following day. It cost me £2 more than the online offer, which I considered a small price for all those discoveries and that distinctive smell of fresh print waiting to be devoured.
