Lovely 3D real world bookshop, the sorts of which are rare to find now - well worth a visit and great selection of books :)

Went in and the owner was incredibly rude to me. This is also the exterior to the Black Books bookshop. I don't think these two things are a coincidence. Five stars.

Coming from a Black Books fan - it was truly amazing to visit the place. It's different on the inside, which I already knew, although I think the show took a lot of inspiration from the original book shop. It's quite small but cosy and you can look through the books for hours and still find new and interesting tomes as well as rare copies. Which brings me to my next point - that the books are all very specialised and quite expensive, which obviously will not be for everyone. I like antique books, but an average shopper won't have the interest or money to casually buy one of the many, many unique books. Fear not, as there was a small selection of more affordable titles. Long story short, I very much enjoyed my visit and the owner was friendly and someone to have a nice conversation with. I will be sure to pop by whenever I'm in London again and who knows maybe one day I'll be able to get one of the books. 😊

I stumbled on this shop on my way to Judd Books. Incredible that I did not even know if it’s existence and I have lived in London for almost 40 years. I must have been in there for 2 hours and Oliver Clark was patient and friendly and happy to share his knowledge with me. A scholar and a gentleman. The shop is just a book lovers dream. I was like a kid in a candy shop, was late for a meeting and keen to buy something. There was no pressure at all from Oliver. Prices are very reasonable too considering the rarity and beauty of many of the books and the specialism of the shop. Bought one book on Eric Gill inscriptions and another a bibliography of private publishers. This place is everything that makes traditional book buying such a pleasure. Can’t wait to return when I have time. If you love books and print you must visit this astonishing shop.
