Waterstones

You will be welcomed by the nostalgic smell of books. They're spread out over two floors and have a large selection of genres. They don't stock technical reads. However, browsing did reveal quiet a few hobbyist books. There's a few nooks and crannies spread out on the second floor which make for very good secluded reading zones.

I love Waterstones but can someone be more courteous than one of the ladies working in this specific store? I definitely know now which one is my favourite bookstore in London. Thank you for making our visit something to remember

Wow what a weird experience. I left shop shocked..
I was in the shop today around 3pm , just looking around and checking what they have - books , gifts etc .
One older woman with grey hair came to me and asked me if I need any help . I said no thank you I’m good. But she was just standing there and staring at me. I was feeling very uncomfortable but I still try to check the books. She moved on my left side still staring at me and she asked me again what book I’m looking for. So I answered again- thank you I’m good I’m just looking around what they have but she didn’t answer anything but she was just standing and staring at me like I was doing something bad. I was trying to ignore this and that she asked third time ! And she again asked me what I’m looking for and she was staring at me like I’m a thief! In 1 minute she asked me 3 times what I’m doing there and she didn’t stop looking at me . I was completely shocked by situation and I left shop extremely confused and feeling weird. I never experienced something like this. What at absolute rude and disgraceful behaviour from this woman. I will never come back again there.

Very nice and cozy book store, great place for kids to spend some time to read.

Really nice bookshop, still can't beat the experience of instore. Plus lots of good suggestions for Christmas gifts.

Decent selection and some nice staff recommendations in both fiction and non fiction

Always a delight to spend time here ...great 'time pass' on a cold winter's afternoon
