It's great to still have a book shop on the high street. This one is not the biggest however it is well stocked and the staff are always happy to order something in for you.
They have a Post Office at the back of the store now.

Great choice of books, staff comments always interesting but new books just cost too much these days so if I want to indulge and buy a new book from a book shop, I go to smaller, independent book shops

If you love books you’ll love Waterstones! It’s very easy to lose track of time in one of my favourite Aladdin’s Caves. . .

Stocks so many useful books and often stores exactly what the college students need if only they directly communicated with the local college I feel like theyd be just that bit better

I love book shops so it is never a problem to spend some time browsing through the well stocked shelves of Waterstones. The staff in the Godalming branch are always helpful and there is a good selection of books. What isn't there can be ordered.

I absolutely love this shop. For me personally, book is all about encounter and there is always something special about the physical visit to book shops; and Godalming Waterstones never fail to present the magic for me. The friendly staff is always helpful with their extensive knowledge of books and I was introduced to some great books that I would never have encountered myself. (There are some descriptions of books here and there stuck on the bookshelves that are written by the staff, which are fun to read! Love all the effort!) *

My visits are often combined with Waterstone’s online service (especially during this pandemic to sadly minimise the long stay) – their ‘click and collect’ service is great: it is free to deliver directly to the store and it is usually very quick. I have messed up my orders a couple of times but the staff was always very patient and kind, with which I’m very thankful.

*One of the best books recommended by one of the kind staff at Godalming Waterstones is "The Huge Bag of Worries” (by Virginia Ironside , illustrated by Frank Rodgers). My guardian daughter (age 4 then) introduced the book as her best comforting book to share at her nursery. It’s a children’s book but it’s age-free: I believe that anybody with worries would benefit from it.
