Popped in here for a hearty lunch on my own.

The service was exceptional, I have never known anything like it before

The food was in the most part amazing (although I wish there was an upgrade of steak available for the steak and eggs)

Was able to upgrade the fries to sweet potato fries.

I ended up going the whole hog and having coffee and desert too as I had time.

I don't believe in the 12.5% service charge (as some companies do not pass it on and surely you can not eat at a restaurant without being served) but it was optional and they removed this £3 odd fee. I did think it was amazing though, so left a £5 in cash tip 😉

Absolutely fantastic! We were re-seated to accommodate a friend in a leg cast, with no fuss. Shown the accessible toilet too. Food was fantastic, dessert was out of this world and I cant wait to come back to eat more. All of the people that served our drinks and food were friendly and attentive. The venue is gorgeous too, lots of character and I'd like to sit at every table!! Highly recommended.

Service is outstanding, super friendly and helpful. Thank you!
Menu is interesting and definetly good however we can't say the same about the taste. We had a variety of food and the Calamari are nice, the salad was also delicious unfortunately the chicken was super dry. Dessert selection is good. Bill's is probably in the 17-19£ class for decent meal with one drink.

Bill's looks lovely, the seating arrangemt and variety of tables and seats creates a charming room. However I am not a fan of some of the seats. I hate eating sitting in a sofa! But that there are plenty of seats I do like.

The food was lovely and tasty and served by staff who were friendly, helpful and charming. The wine is on the pricey end for food of this variety, and with 12.5% service charge it adds to the bill. I was very happy to pay the service charge but I do object to the way that boosts the price of the wine.

I'd definitely go back, I enjoyed the food, I enjoyed the vibe of the place, I enjoyed the staff and service.

Food was really top class as always! Really nice. Lovely cosy atmosphere. But don't go here if your in a rush the man serving us took 20 minutes to take our drinks order. Another 10 minutes to deliver our drinks when they were sat on the side. And took ages to come back for dessert menus to the point we couldn't be bothered. In the end it took us an hour and half for two of us for two courses. As a waiter myself my freind and I wouldn't have minded at all if the place was busy and he was running around but most of the time he was standing there talking to other staff or was no where to be seen at all, also he came across rather callous and as if he did not want to be there. Honestly, not great service for a place that wasn't that busy. Like I said though as with all Bill's the food was lovely. I had the duck salad and the truffle chicken both very tasty and good value for money.

Good food and atmosphere. I had their vegan burger and a ginger beer, which were both very good. My 1 yo had a kids meal, but wasn't super keen on the grilled chicken strips. Should have ordered him the buttermilk fried instead

Cozy place,
cinnamon doughnuts were delicious, beer could be a good option for those who want to drink low-calorie alcohol

We are regular customers at the one in Welwyn Garden City - and there is a specific expectation from Bills as a brand. But when we visited the one in St Albans - it fell short of getting the order out on time - and keeping us updated on where the order was. I was struggling to understand why some of the customer who walked in after us were getting their mains and we were still waiting for the starter after 30 min waiting. When the food arrived the presentation was great - but it wasn’t anything special and with the wait it was simply the last hope of saving the day out. The burger we had order was soggy and that was the biggest let down. Would recommend if your looking for a average burger or meal - but expect a wait and it’s not something I would recommend if your looking for a spectacular meal.
