The Safari Restaurant

Great little restaurant overlooking the chimpanzees and views of Llandudno while having coffee and a little bite to eat before exploring more of this little gem of a zoo

The safari restaurant is absolutely shocking, the food is ridiculously priced and is awful for the price e.g £4.50 for a sausage roll which actually out of the 4 things we bought was the nicest item. The customer service lacks professionalism as the staff seemed rather clueless about what they were doing and made several mistakes with other customers as well as us in the single hour we spent in there. Last of all the corner we were sat in was littered with webs and insects and as much as I appreciate it is a zoo and its to be expected to a degree its still a food and hygiene issue and the corpses had clearly been there for a very long time.

We visited the safari restaurant today for lunch during our trip to the Welsh mountain zoo.
They have self serve screens very similar to McDonalds for you to order and pay for hot food, which then is brought out to you once ready.
Overall the quality of the food was pretty good, whilst on the pricey side but that's to be expected in such places.
I had the Southern fried chicken burger which was really good, my partner had Curry and chips which she enjoyed and my son had the child's chicken nuggets and chips.

Just popped in for a quick snack of fries which were lovely. Staff were friendly, but sadly the coffee was like dishwater. Restaurant views are great, but seems a little understaffed, so tables are a bit sticky.

Good, fast service. Friendly staff. Reasonably priced kid's packed lunch. Lots of GF cakes available. Lovely cup of tea too.

Firstly, the girl on the front desk with the funky hair was great. Smiling every time I saw her despite being very busy and helped resolve an incorrect cooked order for us very quickly. The food itself was average but was reasonably priced given the setting. The area itself was in need of a good clean from obviously being busy with not enough staff to keep on top of it and the orders. The balcony over the tiger enclosure was great.

It took 20 minutes to cook 3 burgers a chicken burger and kids chicken nuggets, the food was cold, bland and distasteful. It was servered in a cardboard box similar to a chip shop instead of on a plate like a normal cafe would have. Certainly don't recommend.

Cafe was okay needs more cleaning to be completed, food was expensive, but the taste was alright. But the views were amazing. Definitely worth going for a drink and a look out the window 🐯
