I'd rather start with the + but folk often only read the beginning so here goes... (tl;dr at the end)

Arrived for Sunday lunch soon after 12, two adults and two young teenagers. No mains on the menu, only five on the Specials board and we had four of them. This review is a joint effort, though I myself had a good sample of three of them.

My wife's ham and eggs was OK. The portion was generous, in fact possibly too much ham, but mostly it was just plain. Nothing special. For £15 I'd expect a twist or just something really special. This wasn't that. 2/5

A couple of mouthfuls into the battered cod my son said it was 'really not good'. He'll eat most things and eats a lot so it's not like him to leave anything, but he ate the chips and left most of the fish, downgrading it to 'terrible'. I had a couple of mouthfuls and had to agree. Cod should be flaky and tender. This was chewy and didn't taste good, suggesting it was overcooked and possibly that it had been frozen. 1/5

My daughter had a couple of mouthfuls of the lasagne and gave up. I tried it and while I could see that it was not what she might have expected, I quite liked it. It was more tomatoey than beefy but that's down to preference and it was far and away the best of the four meals. 4/5 from me. 3/5 from my daughter.

Mine was, allegedly, a minced beef and onion pie. Again, for £15 I'd expect something a cut above a normal pub pie. This was several tiers below. The puff pastry lid on a shortcrust base would have been fun on a good pie, but here it seemed like a gimmick. Both types of pastry were kinda average. The biggest let down was the filling. It was just bland. If you bought cheap frozen mince from a low-end supermarket and heated it as per the packet you'd get this. Not only was there no noticeable onion, there was no evidence of ANY attempt to give this any flavour. No apparent herbs or spices, no Worcestershire or soy sauce. No garlic. No noticeable salt and pepper. Even a few peas or some grated carrot would have added _something_. This was worthy of a 1980's school or hospital dinner. Not actively unpleasant so 2/5.

So onto the better stuff. No one welcomed us, told us to find our own table, brought us menus or told us to order at the bar when ready, we had to work that all out for ourselves. However, the staff were all polite and cheerful and the food came promptly.

The views are amazing, of course, and are largely what you're paying for, though if you're eating here you're probably staying nearby and travelling around the area so you have great views around you all the time.

The Snowdon Craft Bitter is extremely good, I wish I could get it back home! 5+/5!

Tl;dr: Looks like a great place to drink and socialize, but the food isn't even bog-standard pub fayre; it's sub-standard and not worth half the price. Avoid.

Busy cafe, had to wait to nab a table. Limited parking directly outside for 1hr only. More car parking round the corner up the hill. Food was decent. The views are spectacular across Harlech beach and towards Abersoch as well as the castle in Harlech.
