Parked in their EMPTY car park in the evening to go out for dinner and now have a £60 charge. Not a great way to encourage people to use your services. What difference does it make having cars in your car park when you are closed? At least put a barrier in place if you want to be so petty.

Good and large store in a great location in Burgess Hill, I will start using it much more. I've used Wickes for years, primarily in Brighton & Hove. There's always a good range of products with good availability. I think Wickes tends to be used a lot by trades people as they have a lot of suitable building/repair/maintenance products and it's a no nonsense, straightforward shop. Prices depend on the type of products but generally they are very slightly cheaper than other stores - but not always. They have a good website with options for delivery and click & collect which is handy to buy and reserve your items. They also have a big parking area outside which is ideal for cars, vans and any larger vehicles. They accept all major credit cards including Amex which is good for business accounts. Happy overall and will use them again. There's also a food & coffee van concession outside in the car park but I haven't tried them yet, handy if you're busy and need a quick bite.

I have been using wickes since it was payless however after my last experience in here I will never use them again.

I have spent £10,000s in here.

I went in and purchased a makita angle grinder in here for a small job it was the last one they had.

I got to the job and it didn't work. I checked the fuse still didn't work.

I returned it 2 hours later unused and in original condition.

They refused to refund me or give me a credit note.

The lady at the customer service desk said "we don't refund broken items here"

I said I can swap it for another angle grinder.

She refused and said I need to go to marital as they don't deal with returns.

This is disgusting and I would never step foot in this place again.

Waste of time going there as they don't stock much really apart from kitchens...B&Q or Screwfix are way better...

I knew what we wanted, so it was, grab a trolley, find the items, load the trolley and pay! No long queues so a pleasant experience. My only gripe was a very limited amount of large trollies available at the time we arrived plus it was raining so the trolley was soaking wet. No fault of the staff though.

It is Wickes so I am not entirely sure what to say, it is a DIY store and as with most DIY stores they have increasingly moved to selling own brand products only and inflating prices. That said if you need sand or gravel it's great. This week they had no isolation valves which was an odd item to be missing but everything else as expected. The staff are always friendly and helpful. It's a good shop. I use it regularly. Plenty of products here and good prices. Staff are fairly helpful, but could be more friendly. I know it's a DIY store, so what do you expect, but sometimes it's not easy finding a particular item.
