Jewson Ashford - Carlton Road

Just been to Jewson Ashford to buy building sand, gravel and cold lay tarmac. I decided not to go to B&Q/Wickes because surely Jewson would be cheaper.

How wrong was I!!!

Building sand in B&Q costs under £2 a bag, I just paid nearly £4 for it at Jewson.

I can't imagine Jewson's trade customers get these prices, but I imagine I wouldn't stand a chance of getting them to even match B&Q. Anyway, I don't want to have to negotiate for every purchase, just give me a fair price.

My advice - stay clear of Jewson, in fact don't bother with B&Q or Wickes either for sand/cement/gravel. In the end I went to stonecraft paving:

e.g. cold lay tarmac:
Jewson £9.72
Stonecraft £5.50

20mm gravel:
Jewson £3.80
Stonecraft £1.90
