Screwfix Aberdare

My local Screwfix store. Great team. Use it regularly. Parking can be tight at times. Bus stop on main road opposite for those who walk. Good stock levels in their warehouse, with almost anything else next day.

Excellent service lovely staff could not wish for a better company to deal with.
I bought a few things but they did not have the size I needed in a satin finish so they ordered it and I had it the next day and was reminded by both phone and text. Fabulous

Bought 2 bags of post crete 1 bag was damaged had been taped as some of the contents leaked out.. they were very rude as I tried to explain I'm not paying full price on a damaged product.. but in the end I walked out with it as I was not getting anywhere with them and tempers were rising....

Nice staff. Ordering on tablets is a pain because you have to remember to wait when scrolling down as it only loads so many at a time. Otherwise typical Screwfix.

Went in for a thingamabob for the what's it called , yes one of those customers ! And must say David sorted out what I needed as always when I use them very good helpful service can't say enough good things about them

I don't know if there has been a change in management and / or a change in courier used by screwfix but this store is definitely not as efficient as they once were (I have previously given a 5 star rating). When I used to order things for collection next day for items not held in store I would generally receive a text message early next morning informing me that items were ready for collection. Recently, however, it is often late afternoon before I am receiving confirmation. I can imagine this having an adverse affect for a lot of trades people.

The final straw which has lead to this review is again down to next day delivery. Ordered armoured cable and earth gland nuts which were not in store. Day after ordering no text at all. OK I thought to myself it does say 24-48 hours online so I patiently waited. After 48 hours and still no text I called screwfix to chase the order to be told it may come in tomorrow if it doesn't I'll need to go instore to tell then what I would like to do next, cancel order or have them re order it.

The worst thing about it not arriving within the stated 24-48 hours is the fact I didn't receive any contact from the store and had to chase them up. I am not a tradesperson but as I said before I can imagine a lot of disgruntled trades people if this is now commonplace for this store.

I think it may be time to try toolstation

Went to Screwfix today looking for a brass door pull handle - that item not available. Staff in there not particularly helpful. Drove round the corner to Toolstation and they had that item in stock - different attitude towards their customers altogether.

I don’t know what has gone wrong with this store, but there is a certain member of staff who makes you feel you don’t want to be there. Where did this person come from? No customer skills whatsoever. Why be in the job?
