Not good
I've checked thier opening times online so many times to arrive at the doors to find notes saying that they're closed due to unseen circumstances.
Notes saying they're flooded. Despite seeing through the glass windows and doors that it clearly wasnt.
Notes saying Staff shortages etc. I get that we've had a very strange 2 years but this branch has become somewhat of a joke.
So much less personable than years gone by, I'm all for using tech but when it comes to the simplest of things like paying cash in....how do you do that when the deposit machines are inside the branch when you can't even get in.
Time to consider banking elsewhere.

Following the death of a family member, I went into the branch at Fuham Broadway today to close their account. Nyron's service was exceptional: courteous and super efficient. Thank you!

Started out ok until I had problems with my pin so my card ended up being retrieved.I went to the bank to pick up my card and put the correct pin into the machine it did not work! I spoke to a guy in the booth who then proceeded to laugh at the situation back in November. I then had to order another card by telephone as I didn’t want to deal with this bank and the pin still did not work again. By force I went to the branch.I was asked to see the same gentleman that sits in the booth. He told me to take a sit with an attitude then ordered me a new card again ! I explained I have not had this problem before he just ignored me. Then said I should of went to get my money first from the counter all stressed out then put his head in his hand for sometime. I just could not believe how stressed he was over a small transaction why act like that in front of people! Why are you telling me what to do with my money just disgusting . I spoke to a blond lady at the counter the man came over and snapped at me telling me I ordered your card already.Like what are you talking about?repeating yourself. He does not listen and had a bad attitude. I told the lady about this man and said I will never bank with you again. I closed my account last week provided the fact they are always closed! I get a better service else where. I don’t need someone in my face that has problems.

This branch is getting worse it is constantly closed meant to be open today as stated on the door will be open on the 20th it’s now 21st December! Trying to get a transfer to my account as I cannot deposit money into my account for a bill that needs to be paid today ! It’s now saying delayed from other accounts and in a queue for bank transfers from other banks ! Now I cannot pay my bill for catalogue I am going to gain a interest fee and a late payment fee ! Absolute joke of a bank I been with this bank since I was 14 years old ! I’ll certainly be leaving after Christmas and family members to ! Absolute joke ! Don’t bother responding with your sorry to hear this issue ! I certainly will be claiming back the fees I have gained due to your clown of a company!

Been with Nationwide for decades, I won't be closing my account here until I drop dead. Staff here are personable and helpful; my accounts are updated fine. Some misinformation comes from people who think the staff and service in the bigger UK banks will be better - it's not true. Now there's Covid, even more excuse for big banks to shut branches and fire staff. I'll continue with Nationwide.

On closing an account in the Halifax last year was taken into a side room and was dealt with kindness
This was different , personal information is needed and it’s a very hard time , we wasn't taken into a side room and the staff member was phoning the bereavement line about different paperwork out the back about 3 times , I had so much stuff on me and for the Nationwide itself it wasn’t the right stuff but it was all quiet matter of fact when we entered the branch counter staff seemed miffed too , I said I didn’t have certain papers but went all the way home to see most are online printed them out went all the way back and what I had still was not suitable this is what I believe should have happened…….

Someone comes to the counter to closed an account because of a Bereavement
You send someone out , they offer condolences and have a little conversation as a human being , you go into a side room/booth area , you phone the bereavement line in front of the customer you sit and say what the customers has , you ask what is needed and how to get it and you can sort of have a three way conversation , the customer can see you’ve done your best out of the glare of others.
This is customer service.
instead of this back and fourth motion in and out the back with customers sitting on the sofa in the front , we had spent over one hour here when it was Unnecessary .We we’re dealing with one persons bank account but had two family members passing in one week which made the whole thing a lot harder I was upset and cross , my family that have the right documentation go to work so have difficulty getting to the branch that
still closes at 2.00pm ! I left very upset and still unresolved but feel if it was handled the way above it would have been a different feeling even though the outcome would have been the same 😟 due to my missing paperwork

Just went down to pay a Bill (Fulham). But despite website stating its open 9am-4.30pm. It was closed for a week...update, glad you changed the staus of Fulham (one day later). However as per advice on handwritten note . Went to nearest alternative in Kensington. Guess what. Closed until 2.30pm today and queues of 7 others waiting. Online again showed open 9am-4.30pm
