High Peak Buses

The 199 route is great. Always turn up, no matter what the weather. The drivers are caring and very considerate. They are usually very happy and chatty. As I catch this bus regularly either going to Buxton or Stockport it is a life saver for people like myself.

Please watch the dashcam footage of one of their buses overtaking a lorry on a country road, blind bend and a solid white line, almost having a head on collision with an oncoming vehicle. The driver has actually been prosecuted for dangerous driving, what kind of drivers does this company employ?!

The staff are brilliant and you'll get all the help you need to get on the bus by lowering the floor. Which means a lot when you are disabled.

Good company run good services Transpeak good well fited out buses between Buxton and Derby. The regular 199 service Buxton to Manchester Airport . They also have number of smaller good well used buses. Well maintained buses to Glossop Sheffield regular service Maccelsfield via Buxton then on to Bakewell and Chatsworth house. Some services very populAr others less so. Fares reasonable. Buses in good overall condition. Most drivers friendly helpful . Company has mixed reputation The 199 buses have been replaced with newer Mercedes Benz models. These are 6 -7 year old refurbished. They are lot more comfortable than the old 199.
nearly always late in daytime road works. Night time after 6pm service runs on time. Because of covid virus all services are reduced. Check with website before travelling .
