C J Gibbons Butchers & Fine Foods

My nose drew us in the door with fresh baking and we had a small chat with the lady behind the counter before buying a large sausage meat, tomato and onion pie. We've been eating it cold for the past few nights and it's delicious. Wish we lived closer

We visited the area on an off chance for a few days. C J Gibbons gave a friendly professional service with fantastic quality of food. I could not recommend more! It's a long way from Plymouth for our meat!

Really hit and miss. Picked up some sausage rolls and local cheese on a quick visit last year, the service was good and the food brilliant. Stopped in there recently to be told they were short staffed and unable to heat some food for us, we were the only customers in there. I'd politely suggest the young lady trys a different career, being rude to customers isn't really on. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere. The butcher in Talgarth is brilliant.

Meat was good, but the staff at the back on the meat counter were rude. After the person in front of me left, they were muttering rudely about her (from what I heard she seemed polite). Then abrupt while answering some reasonable questions (what cut is this; what marinade is that, etc.). Shame, as people on front deli counter were polite.

Wonderful butchers in Hay on Wye.
Bought some supplies, it was busy.
Minor discrepancy, noticed once butchers closed. Sent an email, received quick reply and promise to sort out next business day at end of our holiday.
Excellent communication and customer service.
Absolutely recommend.

Holidaying nearby, bought hand raised pork pies, scotch eggs and amazing coleslaw for supper later, all exceedingly good and reasonably priced, highly recommended

Lovely staff and an excellent array of food in both the deli and butchers section. Loads of choice and some really good prepared specialities.

Worst experience!!!
The owner was exceptionally rude to us just because we were Chinese tourists. She wouldn’t let us in to the store saying that “things are different in wales”

We are native speakers and some even come from an English background, strongly discourage other customers who also looks Asian because you might have this kind of experience as well.😡
