We just paid £13.90 for two bacon sandwiches. Asked for the bacon to be crispy around the edges instead it was soft and undercooked. We asked for brown sauce on one and red on the other but we got no sauce. Instead we got a bit of salad in a non recyclable polystyrene box.
We would not recommend this place to passing boaters.

Lovely cafe by the side of the canal lock. Inside and outside seating. Dogs welcome.toasted sandwiches, baked potatoes, fresh made baguettes, a cooked breakfast before 10.30, wonderful cake selection and refreshments. I had baked potato with smoked salmon and cream cheese and an earl grey tea. Beautifully presented by friendly staff.
Limited parking. A delightful respite to break up a long journey. Definitely a place to stop if your walking the nearby area or the towpath

Walked in and 3 ladies in there talking to each other, no one being served stood there and felt like several seconds waiting to get served no one spoke to me or made eye contact, in the end I spoke and asked for a coffee, cakes looked good, thought do I just walk out and go home? But sat outside have wanted to visit for a very long time only 4/5 parking spaces, there is a layby on the road/parking, sat outside and watched a canal boat come through the locks which was great to watch, it is noisy because of the road, a few more people came into sit outside foid looked good and there is seating inside. A lovely walk along the canal with Family/Friends and of course our Fur Babies 🐕.
Spoke to a gentleman/volunteer who was very helpful they help keep the lock and canal going they are trying to raise money for a New Bridge I think he said? I noticed to benches/seating along part of the canal. I did walk under the bridge/riad to the others idea of the canal have included pictures
It was a lovely Sunny day next time will ho fir a long walk.

I’ve passed here a few times and decided to call in for coffee and cake. There’s a good selection of cakes. The chocolate and orange was tasty. Staff were pleasant and the cafe is in a nice location just off the road by the canal.

Great spot for some lunch, or coffee and cake, or an ice cream in the summer.

There's always something to see on a walk along the canal.

Good value and freshly made. Our baguettes were fresh out of the oven! 🙂

Staff were friendly and polite. 👍

Bit disappointed with my first visit to this popular cafe yesterday.
Nice location and service was good.
I'm sure the presentation and selection of food is better than my example. However, I thought the poorly cooked sausage sandwich with a tired looking salad garnish was of a poor standard and extremely poor value for money.
Coffee was nice though, so at least there was a positive to take away.

Beautiful setting right next to the locks. We got lucky as the locks were busy with narrow boats going up and down. The cafe has limited car park, otherwise the lay-by on the A41 will suffice, if you find a spot. Had to settle for tea and cheese with chilli sandwich. Would have liked the tea and scones but scones wrapped in plastic and looking flattish. They have an in dog staff member who looks more like the boss and looks like a character of his own. Good selection of tempting cakes on display .
