Delicious sandwich in a super cute hideaway. It is amazing what she can make in such a tiny little spot. Friendly, quick and tasty- especially good when you consider the proprietor is doing it all herself! I'll definitely be back.

Wonderful and welcoming little tea room/cafe. The owner, the said titled Mrs.Potts, is an independent business, relying solely on her dedication and enthusiasm for her thriving little company.

Very tiny interior, with no room for a single table, but be amazed at her baking skills, when you realise that every single cake that she sells, is hand made and baked in an oven, no bigger than your standard microwave.

There is an outside seating area with river views, up a rather steep staircase...(not narrow stairs, but no handrail). She also has tables and chairs under the archway between the car park and the tea room.

Highly recommended.

By the River sounded so lovely, and the location really was beautiful and so tranquil. However after waiting 25minutes I had to go down to the counter and was told the oven wasn't working to heat the beans.
I made a different topping choice and collected two mugs of what looked liked slightly milky dishwater, these were our lattes. They had no taste of coffee and were warm not hot.
A further 10 minutes later our food came out, unfortunately it was inedible !
I'm really not a fussy person and honestly will consume most hot food given to me.
The jacket potato wasn't cooked through, cold and lumpy. The coronation chicken was curry powder mixed into mayonnaise, the chicken was very hard.
The Hunters chicken toastie could have cracked the plate if dropped. The chicken was processed slices that were very dry, with some bacon fat and smothered in tomato ketchup.
Very disappointed as we had a photo shot appointment and then a train to catch, so left hungry and £12 lighter !

What a gem this tiny cafe is! Great food, great drinks and a good generous size too. I had a delicious bacon bap. Sitting by the river is delightful and so peaceful. My spaniel loved it too and the owner is passionate about the wildlife that comes to the water. The cakes looked beautifully made too
