The place looks so much better after the refurbishment. I think that the new management is really doing a good job!! The menu is very good ( a bit overpriced for a coffee shop ) but the food is delicious! Hope they will still rearrange the outside area since that’s the best part!

What's happened to the food and service here? Within the last 3 weeks the portion size has decreased, our order has been forgot and the way the English breakfast is served: with the wrapped butter on top of my toast which is bathing in the beans if there is enough on the plate.... Yuck!
Hope you can somehow get back to how it was or improve. This is a weekly spot for us. I wouldn't want to change it.

Kitchen closes at 3.30 so no chance of giving kids a meal after school. Massively overpriced. Staff can be hit or miss, depending on what mood they are in. Toilets are pretty rank all of the time. Only bonus is the convenience IF it’s not busy or actually not closing

Great coffee. Friendly staff. You can take your dog inside. Lots of outside seating. Good selection of cakes and sandwiches for a quick snack. Large range of hot food. We often stop at this cafe and like the convenience.

Like a lot of places that enjoy a great location and something of a monopoly, this cafe disappoints in a number of areas.

I love the cafe itself and the view across the Rye is really great. I come here a lot to work, they have a couple of plug sockets.

They don't usher me out or pressure me to buy loads of coffees which I appreciate. Particularly because coffees are expensive(!) £3.20 for a latte that is ok but no better.

Even if they're quiet they won't bring your coffee to your table, which feels petty when the staff are often standing around doing nothing. The staff tend to be polite without being friendly, they definitely don't go out of their way to make you welcome.

They have a good number of unisex toilets, but they generally feel unclean, even when you're there early in the day.

It's a real location for parents with their young children and also dog-friendly, which can make it a bit loud.

Basically an underwhelming cafe in a great location, so still worth a visit.

Slow disorganised service. Hot chocolate was barely mixed. Fries and sausage roll were ok. Nice view of the park tho. Next time I’ll just get food delivered or from one of the takeouts in town.

Mediocre at best. Nearly £20 for 2 coffees a cake and a sausage roll. Coffee is just hot milk, no froth , sausage rolls are just microwaved so they’re nice and sweaty handed over in a paper bag, had to ask for plates, even though you pay to eat in, carrot cake at £5 a slice, very dense, and not big enough for that kind of money. Won’t be going back..
