Happy Cafe

The best diner ever! I found this place by accident when walking around the neighbourhood. At first, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go there as the location is a bit hidden from the main road, but then why not? But I kept in my head not to have any expectations as I had a bad food experience in another diner before... So I went inside and had the Homemade Marinated Chicken Steak with chips and salads with a coffee.
When the food food came, OMG, it looks super delish! And it does super delicious! The chicken was super flavourful, giant portions with super salad! And the coffee was amaziiiinggggg. They have some different kind of coffee, which tastes amazing! Not only the taste and the quality of the food that deserves 10/10, but also the prices are very much acceptable! Oh, and surprisingly, they have Wifi too!
It’s best to come when you’re super hungry! 😁

Great local diner cafe with massive generous portions. Owners are very welcome and friendly, combining with good quality food and affordable prices - end up in a lot of loyal local hungry customers as I could see. Obviously don't expect anything fancy, but your stomach will be highly satisfied. Highly recommended if you are hungry and near by.

This cafe changed ownership in the last couple years and the new owners have really rejuvenated this cafe. It went from a cold unwelcoming business to now being the best cafe in Hackney/Islington. The cafe is warm bright and the owners are incredibly friendly and facilitating. The food is amazing and you get such good portion sizes I struggle to finish on most visits! I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone you certainly will leave ‘happy’.

Absolutely Fantastic Cafe! A lovely husband and wife team running a busy cafe cooking great food for all. 6am until 4-5pm , mon to sat you cant fo wrong ! Try Johns famous marinated chicken, what a portion! You dont miss out here and always made to feel welcome! Best Cafe in N1 if not North London!

This cafe is welcoming and has great food! All you expect from a cafe. Since lockdown they do take away and food quality doesn’t change so yeah! I’m happy!

It's a great cafe the food is delicious and the staff are friendly & shown understanding & empathy towards me. I would come back again.

Regards to Covid the cafe is neat clean & offers sanitiser in the front which I'm very happy about.

Prices are very reasonable.
Owners are great people, kind, remember their customers and treat everyone well. This is a hidden gem in Hackney and well worth a visit for breakfast lunch or dinner

A change in management/ownership within the last 8 months approx (I think). Food quality and even the coffee isn’t anywhere as good as it used to be. Previous owners would’ve gotten 5 * and a glowing review.
This ain’t a bad review, I just miss how Happy cafe used to be.
