A lovely cafe, that offers few dishes on their menu, but considering where they are, the menu it has something for everyone. I do love their ethos behind it, by not providing take away so they don't use any disposables and they don't allow any on their premises. The place is small but is functioning in a great manner, but you do need to be early to grab a table as they don't take reservations. Even ifyou need to queue up that is not a problem either as the quee moves quickly.

I loved it here! The coffee was lovely and the food looked great (forgot my insulin so couldn’t eat). Was able to share a table with other customers as it was busy (rightly so!) and the view/vibes were just stellar beside the canal.

The food here is 5/5. Unfussy, modern British cuisine at its best. Fresh and high quality ingredients at a fair price. It's let down a bit by the service. We had to wave at the staff members or walk over to the counter to order our mains, dessert and ask for the bill. Be prepared to wait as well – we arrived a little after 12:00 and our food wasn't served until 13:20.

Fantastic food!!! On arrival you should expect approx. 20-30 mins wait in a good natured queue along the towpath, but don't be put off, it's well worth the wait! The staff are wonderful, so friendly, they work their butts off in the tiniest of locations and really can't do enough for you, so be patient with them! I went alone for breakfast (expect to be seated alongside other diners, it's unlikely you'll get a table to yourself), then again for lunch with a friend the next day, both times it was a delicious, beautiful, fresh menu... I'll post a couple of menu pics, but I had the sweetest lamb on a bed of hummus with pine nuts, fresh figs with ricotta, walnuts and honey; my friend had smoked mackerel with roasted tomatoes bruschetta; I just wish my belly were big enough for more as the family seated with us had roast chicken, brown shrimp in a little tower of fresh slaw, all fabulous, lovely stuff! Of course the canalside location on a sunny day is just dreamy, this is a great place to watch the world go by at a perfect little eaterie! I'm a fan! Highly recommended! 👍 ❤️👌 xxx

Having read the reviews beforehand I knew that I was in for a wait. I arrived at 12:15 which turned out to be the perfect time as they stop breakfast at 12 and start lunch at 1. We were therefore in the front of the line for the lunch service. We were seated around 12:45 and had a mint tea for 15 mins before the menu was brought out. We ordered quickly and the food came out within 10 mins!

Lots of people have complained about the staff being rude or the food taking ages. Both were completely untrue in my experience! Staff were beyond friendly and food was quick. However I noticed that they ran out of popular dishes very quickly—I was so glad we were one of the first to order. Food took longer for those after us as well.

Everything was absolutely delicious, it was one of the best lunches I’ve ever had. Vanilla soft serve was unexpectedly wonderful. I loved everything and can’t wait to go back next year.

Disappointing. I was really looking forward to trying this place, having heard rave reviews. The squash fritters were actually just pieces of squash, deep fried in a batter. They were beyond greasy. The person next to me said they tasted like donuts. They tasted like old fryer oil, and made you feel almost instantly sick. The taramasalata was fine. £3 for a mug of boiling water and a few sprigs of mint is a joke, as is the 12.5% service charge. Service is incredibly slow. It felt like a massive rip off and a waste of a lot of time.

Best little no-frills cafe and restaurant along the canal! This place is a real hidden gem💎 and serves the most delicious food - I can't imagine how they do it in that tiny kitchen, but the food is fresh, refreshing, seasonal and so inventive. The flavours just work! They don't take reservations so you have to come early/get lucky but definitely worth the trek over.

Cec recommended this place by the canal, we made it the last week before it closed for winter! It was a little chilly and rainy on the day but we were under the awnings. Delicious homely food, flavours are in good hands… the onglet was a personal favourite. A good place to sit and talk all afternoon.
No bathroom however!
