Just had a run out to Edale .I saw this place on a Google recommended review. It lived up to its billing .We had a lovely lunch out side in the sunshine. Right in the heart of the village but tucked away .Food was great staff were very helpful. Not much in the way of parking but a helpful guy at reception found us a spot.

Really lovely experience both today and yesterday at the Newfold cafe. The team are lovely and friendly, service is quick, coffees were good and the team were obviously fully trained on using the coffee machine (surprisingly you don’t find this in a lot of cafes). Only stayed for breakfast on both days but the vegan sausages were lovely & the avocado on toast too - generous portions & good prices. Even took a takeout cake and it was worth it! Will definitely recommend! Thank you :) !

Lovely family outfit with great coffee and tasty breakfast. Eggs could be a little better but hey its food for energy out here.

Carrot cake was faaaaantastic, gave me such a sugar high that I made it to the top of the peak district.

Not a great breakfast experience. They seem to be having renovation work done at the moment, so unsure how much that affects the quality of their food. My cup of tea had clearly been made with powdered milk as bits of powder were floating on top. We had the Full Derbyshire breakfast (£8). The scrambled eggs were dry and the sausages were not very nice, however the Derbyshire oatcake was good.

Location is very nice and staff are very friendly so shame about the food and drink quality.

Unfortunately there are no dedicated gluten-free options that I could see. As I am gluten-intolerant the Full Derbyshire was the only thing I could chance eating (giving the oatcake to my partner) as the rest of the menu is bread/pastry-based.

I wanted to like this place more because it looks good, but both times I've been here recently there have been problems with our service. On two separate occasions, our orders were completely forgotten about and we had to chase them up, and then we didn't even receive an apology.
Two times out of two is not a good track record.☹️

We ordered a baguette with ham hock, piccalilli, fries and fried eggs. There’s no sign of fries or fried eggs, no explanation was given. The kitchen forgot the order to begin with, and we waited for 40 mins for the baguette to arrive. The ham was full of chunks of gristle, too.

Honestly think this is the best soup I have ever had! Rest of the food looks amazing too. Great cakes selection and friendly service.
