One of the best cafes I've been to only ordered food to takeout so far but with the many choices of tray bakes, scones and savoury bits on offer I will definitely be sitting in on my next visit.

When my daughter poured her can of orange into the glass she'd been given black specs (dirt in the bottom of the glass) floated to the surface. I alerted the waitress to this. She gave me another glass, no apology, and no replacement can for the drink that had already been poured out and was undrinkable.

So we paid full price for half a drink, and Coffee Beans are happy to serve things on dirty kitchenware. There are plenty of better cafés in Leek who charge similar prices.

Visited twice in one day.

Originally came in for hot drink to sit in and dry off from the rain. Two coffees and a kids hot chocolate which were nice and better tasting than that Costa rubbish.

Later on we popped back in for lunch. It was busier by then, so I unstood the wait for out baguettes.
The baguettes were nice but the description of being premium baguettes is incorrect. They are the part baked baguettes that you get from most supermarkets. They taste fine but a bit of false advertising.
Afterwards we decided to each have a cake which from the menu we believed were homemade... but I don't believe they are.
The coffee and walnut cake ... well we couldn't taste any coffee and the walnut must have only been the crushed nuts found on you of the crystallised sugar topping. The cake itself was very dry.
My custard slice had to be sent back. Unfortunately after fighting the spoon though and taking a bite to fine it was frozen. They did apologise saying that it had been out all morning so surprised it was still frozen. I ended up getting a different cake as a replacement but wish I hadn't bothered. This makes me believe that the traybake items could be homemade but the gateau and slices etc are bought in frozen items.

Unfortunately the cakes did put a downer to the whole experience for us all so likely we will try somewhere else to eat next time.

Not impressed I'm afraid. I ordered a cake & drink of cola, to consume in the cafe area, plus two cakes to take home. I paid for everything but wasn't given a receipt. I sat at a table & waited for my order. The table was cluttered with dirty crockery, crumbs, suger & what looked like milky coffee - I hastened to add that the only other tables available were in a similar state. The floor under every table was filthy - ended up with slippery food on the soles of my shoes !!. I started to think I had made a big mistake in coming into the cafe ! I don't like to pick my way through bits of food that should have been cleaned up as soon as the tables occupants had left the table. The final frustration was that my cake order hadn't been boxed up & the two young women behind the counter had brief 'words', one clearly recalling my paid for order & the other not recalling a word of the conversation the three of us had had 15 minutes before. I didn't have a receipt to show the fair haired girl my proof of purchase. These girls need supervision & a clear brief of what is expected of them when in work. Both were quite pleasant but communication between them needs work, as well as a reminder about hygiene & health & safety.
However, can I say, the cakes & flapjack were delicious.

Been in this afternoon.
The tables were all piled with dishes. We put ours to the side.
Tables were not cleared whilst we were in.
The girls all seemed to be getting orders mixed up.
Washing piled up in the sink!
When our drinks came there were suds still on my saucer.
I work to hard to give my money to a cafe that cannot clear the tables.Wipe them down and keep the floors tidy....
If we visit leek again. We will take our custom and hard earned money elsewhere!

Stopped in for coffee and cake, good choice of goodies to savour. Located on the High Street, not busy when we called in.

Lunchtime light meal for 2 adults was tasty and served quickly. Their tray bakes are yummy so bought some to take home.
Cold day. Small heater just about adequate.

I dropped some customers in Leek, and while I was waiting for them, I went into the cafe for a small bite to eat. The staff was lovely. The food was amazing, and I would highly recommend eating in there, The cakes are to die for beautiful, thanks to all the staff and most of all the cook 👍
