Cosy little cafe also known as Worplesdon Road Cafe situated on its namesake street. Being near a major road junction, the restaurant's location makes it easily accessible to many folks.

I had the Mega Breakfast, which came with 2 sausages, 2 eggs, baked beans, chopped chestnut mushrooms, 2 slices of toast, and 2 plum tomatoes. Food quality was nothing great: the tomatoes and beans tasted as though the cook just opened the respective cans and dumped the contents on the plate. The eggs were clearly cooked using egg rings and were decent. Sausages were rather average.

With all that said however, this place does offer very good value for money. Everything above set me back only £6.50, and the portions were huge. I've attached images to my review for reference.

Service was also quite average. The staff didn't bother greeting me when I stepped into the restaurant, but would rather idle behind the counter until I approached them. And it's not as if the restaurant was crowded either; there was only one other patron who had already received his food.

I ordered a Hot Chocolate after my meal and waited at the counter for it. The person preparing it messed up and the drink overflowed all over the cup. They gave it to me nonetheless with an apology. The drink itself was decent though, and felt like the most 'special' item among everything I ordered.

Overall, a decent place to visit but only for convenience or when one is busy to cook for themselves.

Was very suspicious when my cooked breakfast turned up roughly 30 seconds after I ordered it.

Everything was totally dried out, presumably by the heat lamp it'd been sat under from when it was cooked 3 hours before. Sausages had a leathery skin on, black pudding inedible and totally dried out (almost like powder when cutting it), chips were the same. Toast tasted stale.

On the plus side, staff are very friendly.

You know you are at the right place when a place is full of locals with smiles on their faces. Lots of variations of English breakfast. Decent coffee, prices may seem a bit high but they match the quantities. A good place to eat if you had an early start or after a busy night shift.

Sad little place. Will definitely avoid ordering from here.
Main issues:
- they don't update when/whether they are open for business on Google. Happened three times, two Sundays and one Wednesday. Waste of time and money getting there and it was shut every single time.
- decided to order online today, instead, the 'Alex' breakfast which didn't come with baked beans. For an english breakfast to come without beans it's a huge disappointment.
Says volumes about the management or lack of.
Definitely the last time I will order fro here. There are cheaper alternatives which much higher hygiene ratings. Theirs is a laughable 3 out of 5.

Expensive breakfast. Great welcome ,very busy. Service abit slow. The sausages were tasty . Beans We're cold and tomatoes weren't fresh.
Seating practical and outside seating available. Some noisy clients which created a disturbing atmosphere.

Alex's Cafe is a rarity nowadays, so when you find places like this; you've got to support!

After being left dissatisfied at other local cafés, decided to give Alex's a try and since then been a returning customer!

Atmosphere is a good kind of busy almost any time you happen to go in, with a diverse plethora of customers from builders to families, businessmen and everything in between.

You'd forgive a slow order because of this but you don't have to, as the service is second to none. Food is out quick and served with a smile, it is exactly what you want with good flavour and quality, with the price being the cherry on the cake and incredibly reasonable for what you get.

Don't ever change Alex's. 👍

Good service, good food, reasonable prices. Pleasantly busy, nice buzz, but tables available.

Its a greasy spoon cafe, one of the best. Lots of set breakfasts and grils, great portions and always friendly.
