Went to The Penny Pot Cafe after left Greenacres Campsite to go there for breakfast and tea before catch the train to go back to Essex after finish "Easter Weekend" Rambling.

Inside and outside of cafe look nice and very tidy plus there have train information displayed of Platform 1 - run to Manchester Piccadilly) and Platform 2 - run to Sheffield.

Really quite enjoyed visiting there for eat and drink but seem popular for hiking and "mountain" cyclist.

Will try re-visit again one day.

10/10.

The friendliest café I've ever been to!

The three staff in this café are the most welcoming people I've ever met, with a genuine smile to answer any questions. Nothing seems to be too much trouble, and they all clearly love what they do. There's free WiFi, clean toilets, and a cozy vibe that make for a lovely pitstop.

It's a stone's throw away from a play park for the little ones, and just next to the main car park; the café is card only, however they kindly carry a stock of change specifically for getting cashback for the car park, which is cash only (in this day and age...).

They also have a little information leaflet stand in the corner to nosey through if you're at a loss for what you want to do with your day, and by the looks of the fireguard next to the log burner, it looks to be a warm and cozy stop on a cold winter's day...

They also sport a huge raised deck area to the side, and a small picnic-style set of tables out the back. Dogs are welcome, as are walkers with empty water bottles; as I say, literally the friendliest café ever!

Definitely worth a visit, and we will certainly come back next time we are in Edale!

Great friendly service, great coffee- amazing blackcurrant scones!
Will definitely be going back.
I’d forgotten to pick up our pasties after paying for them before our trek.
Tried my luck before closing time on our return- was kindly offered a refund but then spotted the scones, so glad I popped back in

An absolute gem, a simple, no nonsense cafe with fantastic, helpful and friendly staff. Great food, drink and quite possibly the very best cup of tea I have ever had, a special blend chosen by themselves and presented in its own infuser. Amazing place!👍

Definitely my favourite café stop in the Peak District when cycling! The coffee is brilliant, from a nice place in Sheffield. Today I had the carrot cake which was absolutely stonking! Shame Edale is a one way trip to mam nick or we'd call in much more often.

Lovely staff too!

Staff were great. Hugely over priced but that to be expected with it's location. Good quality food and coffee was great. Parking can be an issue, luckily we were on motorcycles.

The Penny Pot Cafe in Edale, Peak District is a very good place to stop for hot drinks and food.
I visited as a cyclist on a very cold and wet January day, 2023. I was very glad of the warm stove in the corner of the cafe and a hot coffee with cake. There is a parking area for bikes and outdoor tables to the rear of the cafe and toilet facilities in the cafe. It is a very good cafe for outdoor enthusiasts and has very good customer service.

Found this place after a long local walk which was an amazing find. The owner Chris served me coffee and cake ( which was truly amazing may I add) while I waited for my wife to arrive with my wallet. Log fire was very welcoming too. If you want some friendly service, good cake and great fresh tea or coffee I would definitely stop here. Next time I’m in the area I will try the homemade soup. Thank you Chris for such a little gem.
