Simply delicious food, cooked and presented well, food allergies taken seriously and catered for. You will not leave hungry, best breakfast around served with a mug of coffee and plenty of toast and jam too. Great friendly table service. Plenty of free parking. We will definitely go back, very friendly atmosphere.

My first visit to the restroom, this place is railway themed and takes you back to another era we only called in for a brew and a coffee the service was good other peoples meals looked spot on with plenty of choice, this cafe is dog friendly with its own resident hound by the name of Benji there is seating both inside and out the toilets were clean with works of art on the walls and fascinating toilet roll holder. I will be back and will go for a full meal.

Visited yet again this week and excellent as always. I had the Fireman's Breakfast, again, superb and great value. Very pleasant staff and a lovely dog!
Highly recommended.

Good value for money cafe on Hellifield station, lots of artifacts to look at. If you love trains and are in the area, pop in

EDIT 12-06-21 Fully reopened after enforced closure because of Covid regulations. Now with a secure one way system in place, ample supplies of sanitizer and the same warm friendly welcome.

A quirky unique experience, worth a special visit, and excellent if you’re waiting for a daytime train on the otherwise desolate station. (Closed Mondays). Equally ideal if you’re into spotting the many heritage trains that come through the junction. Don’t be put off by the dire approach up the station ramp under the platform.
The cafe has an excellent selection of basic but very warming foods and it’s served quickly and with a smile. It’s accessible to people of limited agility (including wheelchair accessible) and the toilets are also accessible and on the same level.
In warmer weather there is the opportunity to eat at tables on the railway platform.
Adjacent to the cafe is a series of rooms with railway memorabilia and books, and a little playroom for children.
Definitely somewhere I would go again.

What an absolute find, this place is amazing. A quirky cafe on the platform of the station, even the seating inside was lovely. Fireman's breakfast with tea & toast for £6 was a bargain, really tasty with yummy sausages and even jam & marmalade for the toast. I bought two slices of lemon drizzle for £1 each, again a bargain & so delicious 😋 we will be back.
