The service was disgraceful. Staff were uninterested, and were more concerned with finding our non existent table number than dealing with our order. (There were only 2 other customers and they had been served. When the food did arrive "cutlery is on the rack over there" were the only words spoken. Bearing in mind we were sat in cramped, old style train seats which are difficult to get in and out of.
The food mediocre. Apple pie with custard (slop with more slop) actually it tasted like Ambrosia tinned custard, and Chocholate Fudge Cake (more like dried out sponge cake with chocholate butter icing) both had some kind of dust over the top. Both overpriced at £4.55 each.
Definately one to avoid.
Ordered some milkshakes which came slow but were so worth it. They were cold and thick like a milkshake should be.
There's a sign on the wall stating that if you have any allergies, to let the staff know. I have a peanut allergy, and simply asked if they had anything on the menu that used peanuts, or if they used peanut oil in their kitchen. The woman taking our order stated that she had no idea. When I asked if she could possibly check, she said that she was the only one on staff that day, and that she had no idea what they used. She also said that they had taken all the labels off of the oil, so she didn't know what was used. All fairness, she did work with me a little, and offered me a poached egg bap since that didn't use oil, and I did appreciate that. However, when we were finished eating and got up to leave, we noticed that she was outside taking a private call on her cell phone, not paying attention at all to what was going on in the cafe. Overall, not impressed at all. Anyone with any food allergies or intolerances beware.
